Easy to use and fits most cot beds. How does this product make your life easier as a dad?Gives your child a great night sleep.Slightly firmer so as to give more support. My son has slept really well on this mattress. He used to wake up all the time - I'm not sure if it's just coincidence or not, but he now sleeps through the night.  I've had some sleep! Together with his new cotbed, my son now loves sleeping and going to bed. This has made an immeasurable improvement on my life. I just wish I'd sorted it out soonerIf you could change one thing about this product what would it be?It's quite expensive, ideally I would want to spend less on a mattress, although it's worth every penny if my son sleeps through.Simply put, it's very very comfortable. It's not too soft, not too hard, just right (as Goldilocks might say). My son is getting the best night sleep he's ever had, which means I am too, which makes for a very happy household.I can do everything better and quicker since using this product because I'm finally getting a good night sleep!

I wouldn't change anything. I'd look for the purotex cover as my little one suffers with allergies. No need to worry about mites and allergies, great that you can switch sides between winter and summer, makes it a much more comfortable sleep for the baby. Can't think of anything I'd change. I'd be happy to spend this much on a good mattress, I think it's well worth the money. Click here to create an account with us today! Home / Blog / Nursery Shopping Guides / A Guide To Cot Mattresses posted in Nursery Shopping Guides by Baby & Co on August 7th 2014 0:39 PM We find it a constant surprise that customers seem to spend weeks and weeks deciding on which cot or cotbed to choose and once they have decided they only spend a few minutes deciding which mattress to go for. Really it should be the other way around.

We feel the mattress is the most important decision in the nursery, if you think about it for a while, how many hours do you think you baby will be laying on the mattress you have chosen, through all though crucial developmental months as their backs and neck develop. The support from the mattress must be of the highest level to ensure a comfy well supported sleep. In general we recommend foam mattresses for cots and spring mattresses for cotbeds. Purely from an economic point of view. If your cot is only going to last 2 years then a foam mattress will see out the life of the cot, however a cotbed will last 5-6 years and a foam mattress will only really last 2 years and have to be replaced, whereas a spring mattress will see out the life of the cotbed. We only deal with three suppliers of mattresses, Silver Cross with their PostureStart range, BabyWise and a Cosatto's extensive range of cot and cot bed mattresses. There are several qualities to choose from by each manufacturer and we will discuss the pros and cons of each.

Foam Foam mattresses are made from a high density foam and most can be cut to any size you require. There are varying degrees of ventilation from the head section which aids the circulation of air around baby's head and also allows for drainage of any liquids or fluids, particularly where newborn babies are concerned. To a mattress which is ventilated entirely from top to bottom, which allows circulation of air all over whatever the position of the baby is laid in the cot. With the "supervent" style mattresses there is usually a non toxic pvc sleeve which is adjustable anywhere over the mattress pad This mattress is filled with the natural fibres from the coconut which are bound together with natural latex and then layered between foam. This offers comfort and resilience. This style of mattress offers excellent air flow and is of course environmentally friendly. However we have noticed a move away from this type of mattress for children with allergies or asthma symptoms.

The spring mattress is rather like your own sprung mattress and is made from coil springs which provide posture, support and durability which in tern is sandwiched between two layers of foam. The mattress is also fully breathable. This mattress is the ultimate in comfort and support made with a network of independent pocketed springs provides excellent support, helps prevent indentations and increases comfort as each spring responds individually to your child's sleeping position. The new range of Posture Start mattresses made by Harrison Spinks on Behalf of Silver Cross are the ultimate in baby mattresses. Offering high spring count with custom made "baby spring" and advanced materials throughout the mattress to provide the best in support and comfort. These are just some of our favourites, there are many more choices available.
