Gymnastics…
Ella KerwinGymnastics is a sport. You need lot of flexibility!
Translate into German it actually means ‘Turnen’, but also in German you sometimes say ‘Gymnastik’ -> Which then means something like acrobatic.
Sometimes Gymnastics means to be mega flexibility! Like Sofie Dossi or Anna McNulty...
Especially in the USA, is Gymnastic a very important sport. For example Simone Biles is in Olympic very successfully. She already won 25 medals!!!
Simone Biles on the floor:
Floor, balance beam, ... what’s this?
These are different Gymnastics equipment. There some more: floor (Boden), balance beam (Schwebebalken), horizontal bar (Reck), uneven bars (Stufenbarren), ingots (Barren), rings (Ringe), horse (Pferd), jump (Sprung)
So, now you see:
That Gymnastics isn‘t only something for woman! Many men do Gymnastics too!
But don‘t worry: When you start doing gymnastics, you will learn a bike or a handstand (not a flick flack with dopple somersault ;D) This called Apparatus Gymnastics (Geräteturnen).
Do you want to be able to do more than that? Then go to Artistic Gymnastics (Kunstturnen) over!
