Simple Measuring Techniques for Replacing Patio Cushions Measuring for Replacement Cushions If you have outdoor chair cushions that fit properly but are worn out, you can measure for replacement patio cushions by following these easy steps. Before you begin taking measurements, make sure you lay the existing patio cushion flat on a hard surface such as the floor. Measure the length of the patio cushion from the front of the outdoor chair cushion to the back. Measure the width of the patio cushion from one side to the other.
