Goodbye

When I launched feediary in July 2018 I was really confident that the service will stay forever, or at least for a very long time. Now, slightly more than a year later, the reality hit me, and I have to announce that we have to close feediary on the 1st of November. For the past weeks I struggled to make a final decision. Should I end feediary or invest a lot of more time and money to make it the service I want it to be and to make it sustainable.

In the end, I decided to close the service. It was a very hard decision to make, but for the time being it is the only way to not risk to have a half-maintained service running with thousands of people which may break any day.

PRO subscription

If you have a PRO subscription you should have received an email from Stripe that your paid subscription was canceled, which means you won't be charged any longer. You can still use feediary though with all the PRO features until the 1st of November.

Export your data

On feediary it was always possible to export all your data and also an OPML file with all your feed subscriptions. I would encourage you to export all your data before 1st of November, so you can switch to another RSS reader after feediary has been closed. Download all your user data and export your OPML file now before you forget about it.

Final words

I have plans to open-source feediary, but I first need a rest from it and figure out the best way to do this.

Thanks to my friends help me developing and maintaining feediary. Thank you to everybody trying out feediary. Thank you to everybody actually using feediary as their RSS reader. Thank you to everyone trusting us enough to go PRO. Thank you.

Goodbye
