When we arrive we wondered where we could get some inexpensive beach chairs for use while we are there - we will probaby leave them behind in the condo when we leave. Please let us know if there is a good local place or if we are better off going to Walmart. Kmart, just outside of Kahului airport.

Many condos provide beach chairs. Check before you buy. Rent them at Snorkel Bob's or somewhere like that. Others before you might have left their beach chairs behind in the condos. If you are renting from a specific owner, then you can check to see if they already have beach chairs at the condo. If you are renting from a property management place such as Resort Quest then they will not be able to tell you what the specific condo might have for you.
You can find beach chairs for about $15 to $20 at KMart, Walmart, etc. Snorkel Bob's charges $4.50 per day or $15 per week. You can buy a beach chair at ABC store for $17 to $20 (less if on sale). How much are beach chairs at WalMart and K Mart? Thanks very much - I did call the condo and they said that they do not have chairs "people tend to walk off with them" Since we will be there for 9 days, seems like we should buy some and then bring some duct tape and then secure them together and bring them home as checked luggage.... "How much are beach chairs at WalMart and K Mart?" I paid just under $8 ($7.97 I think???) at Kmart this past October. And we, like many others, left them at our condo for the next guests to use. We buy the cheap chairs at wal-mart,,,$5.00 to $20.00 a piece.. You will love the Island tower,,, My favorite of all places I have stayed.. property's lost and found/housekeeping/janitorial staff Bamanascar is politely telling you to check the dumpsters!!!! I had exactly the same problem. Tried to find some online within a reasonable price, but they all started at least $35.00 and up per chair plus shipping costs. My husband suggested that we try Academy, a sports store, and found beach chairs for $9.99 a piece.
I also found a beach 6 ft. umbrella at my local dollar store for $9.99. If you don't have an Academy locally, check your nearest sports/camping store. Buy once and save the money from renting! The Wal Mart in GS seems to be very reasonably priced and last year they had a variety of chairs. Our umbrella (from wal mart) is still in good shape after about 10 trips, and we just replaced the chairs last year. Heck, I think it is at least $25 a day to rent a chair on the beach. You'll come out way ahead buying your own. I think we got two cushioned lounges with an umbrella for about $125/wk if I remember right. We rent from Ike too. This disadvantage of having your own - is the set up & taking down. Chairs & umbrella's get heavier walking on the sand. And also if you don't set your umbrella up correctly - the wind can take it away. We actually 2 umbrella's blowing down the beach - which can also be very dangerous. But it can be so much fun to watch,,Just kidding Do know the rentals are taken down ever day , and sometimes the sun is still strong, and it can be a bit late in the morning, before they get them out .
