To continue driving best business practices across our operations globally, we are building a world-class Finance organization and assembling the right teams to ensure we are the best we can be in order to drive our success. Opportunities are available now for a Global Process Owner (GPO) for Investment Planning and Post Implementation Review to join the GPO virtual team, to be based ideally in Russia, VEON’s biggest commercial hub. 


Our GPOs will hold key positions in the Finance organization. We are looking for experienced VEON employees who wish to play an important role in our Finance Transformation. The GPO will be expected to be the functional process subject-matter expert for specific areas and will play an active role in defining global process ownership and oversight of end-to-end activities. This would be an ideal role for looking for those professionals who are looking for an international and global experience, and to gain insights into detailed end-to-end processes in the fast-paced digital and telecommunication industry. 


The main responsibility of the Global Process Owner is to support Oracle Fusion solution implementation across VEON Group, where functional process expertise is required, both in Design and Migration of our OpCo Processes into the centralized model providing a framework of standardize processes. 


Within 30 days… 

-You’ll be familiarizing yourself with our business and will develop a solid understanding of the digital transformation we are undertaking, the changes and impact it is having on the way we do our business, and be realizing the opportunities as well as challenges this poses for us. 

-You will have established relationships with your colleagues both locally and internationally and will already be interacting with the other process business owners sharing information on end-to-end process optimization. 


Within 60 days… 

-You’ll have a firm grasp and understanding of the Finance organization and established relationships with business leaders across our global footprint. 

-You will have showcased your creativity in how to improve the VEON key processes and procedures, ensuring validation of both complete and accurate design and execution effectiveness of the end-to-end processes, including linkages to other processes, including but not limited to risk based key controls identification. 

-You will work closely with the Design team on driving operational consistency and globalization through setting and approving clip levels, developing strategies for tools, systems, databases and spreadsheets, outlining data collection and calculation methodologies including frequency of measurements and service level agreements (SLA) targets. 

-Part of your responsibilities will be to review and approve all the changes to key controls for the owned process as executed by the countries and update in the corresponding process documentation. 

-You will assist the GPO team with RACI Definition for core responsibilities for the process. 

-The Global Process Owner will have a pivotal role in the design and implementation process of the new ERP system (ESS project). 

-Acting as the leader of the process of driving change, the GPO will also play a key role in the Global Design Authority (GDA) for Finance, while at the same time promoting Continuous Improvement, leveraging established standards throughout the end-to-end engagement cycle and assisting with training of new end users. 


Within 90 days… 

-You will be showcasing your dynamic approach and will to challenge the status quo by identifying opportunities for efficiency, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. 

-You will also have established strong relationships with the teams in our operating companies and already be demonstrating a customer service oriented approach in your engagements with them. 

-By now you will also proactively identify additional processes in our OpCos or HQ which could be migrated into the GSS scope (or vice-versa where applicable). 

-Working closely with Internal Controls and Compliance, you will assist with the harmonization of key controls across the function as we migrate into the SSC model. 

-To help our businesses improve, you will drive deployment of and compliance to the standard process, ensuring adoption of the blueprint across VEON, driving the platform blueprint definition, managing all variations to the platform blueprint, communicating the blueprint processes accordingly. 

-You will have delivered your first Kaizen and Lean events to ensure implementation of continuous improvement across all regions of operations. 

-Last but not least you will be the one to create process maps describing fix assets and project accounting for the Group. 


A bit about you… 

-You are a strategic thinker, capable of driving ideas clearly and with conviction at all levels of industry and within VEON. 

-As a true leader, you are able to influence others and collaborate across functions and with key stakeholders. You have been doing this for some time already and have worked on cross-functional projects in a multinational environment. 

-You have previous experience in a Finance related role (accounting and planning), in the International Telecommunication and Digital industry, especially in the Emerging Markets as well as a detailed understanding of strategic processes and strategic systems within a complex international matrix organization. 

-You have solid knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and hold a ACCA or CPA certificate or equivalent. 

-You are committed to delivering best-in-class performance to your stakeholders. 

-You are eager to take ownership to reach sustainable implementation of Group-wide improvement project across all OpCos and Clusters. 

-You hold a Bachelor and/or a Master degree in Finance or business administration, with a strong background in Accounting preferably in the OpCo environment. Sound IT functional Knowledge to assist with design and running of test scripts also helps you in implementing change across the Group. 

-As a relationship manager, you are able to communicate clearly and effectively in English with differing nationalities and work effectively through remote team working, providing clarity in resolving ambiguity between local and global strategy. 

-Due to the VEON specific geographical span, knowledge of the Russian language is preferable. 

-Eager to drive change, be a pioneer, inspire others through self-organized workshops and tailored training sessions to help the VEON teams achieve success. 

-Understanding LEAN/Six Sigma methodology and its practical usage is an advantage. 


Aside from being a pro in what you do, you love travel and are excited about working from home and flying in to sites up to 50% of the time, if need be.
