Apoorav's Part

Good evening everyone, My name is Apoorav Choudhary and today I am here, with my companions to talk to you about what Github is and what exactly the big cloud software development program means to us as students enrolled into B.Tech Computer science engineering course.

I'd like to share a short conversation I had with a friend. I asked him, "Do you know what Github is? Do you know about it? He said no, I showed the website to him and He was like "What is this Kali billi?"...

So yeah, I'm trying to bring light to this kali billi with my team.

Handing off the stage to Meet Patel with a question, "Why we went for Github? Wasn't there a better topic concerning our society or some social topic?"

Meet's Part

If we flip that question back, like isn't it concerning why we as computer science students don't know about what Github is about ?

Its not like we didn't have a better topic but as fellow students in the same course, we felt the need to tell everyone about how awesome and useful Github is.

You may think, okay so what do we get from Github? Ever thought how cool it will be to get a website by your own name? or canva.com, the website which most of you used to make your presentations gives a year pro subscription for free under Github student pack!
Trust me, its just like LinkedIn

It will be greatly useful for your CV

Detailed information for Github student pack is gonna be by Mayank, passing it on to him

Mayank's Part

A complete introduction into web development, everything that you'll ever need to get into real world development.

What was the website to get domain by our own name? Name.com gives you one year of free domain hosting by your name! like how would it seem arjunbothra.com Arjun, No offense..

Canva.com their pro pack costs 119$ for a year which is roughly eight thousand rupees and you get this for free!!

The list of benefits isn't endless but its more than enough for us to grow. Some of us may have family business to look after their degree while the others maybe looking for on campus placement.

So its the best way to give a kick start to our life as computer science students.

How to start with Github? that question will be answered by Aditya, handing it off to him.

Aditya's Part

You don't have to know how to code as a prerequisite, start little by little, Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, But They Were Laying Bricks Every Hour. It takes time to create great work. Make your profile at Github.com and start doing projects as you learn, as you grow. Enroll into their education program at education.github.com There is no need for any special verification, just scan your Amity I card for them to verify the length of your course and institution email id, That's it!!

Giving it off to Apoorav for the final conclusion of our act.

Apoorav's Part

In a nutshell, Github is basically Instagram for developers... just instead of photos and tiktok videos, developers upload their code, review others and like them, or perhaps in Github terms star them. And you get benefits worth in dollars, so its a win-win situation.

At last I wanna say this presentation wasn't sponsored by Github and go follow my Github here for when you make your account.

Thank you all for your time, now you all can ask any questions you might have.
