Gillian Wearing
Dicecream Magaine🎬📷Gillian Wearing (born 1963) is an English conceptual artist, one of the Young British Artists, and winner of the annual British fine arts award, the Turner Prize, in 1997.
In 2007 Wearing was elected as lifetime member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Her photo and video works at first appear like any other journalistic methods of documentation that is seen in television and documentaries.
She turns her lens on herself and on people she meets, whether on the street or through advertisements she has placed in newspapers.
Gillian Wearing produces candid videos and photographs revealing the disconnect between our inner lives and public personas, the individual and society, and truth and fiction.
