Nick was one of very few people who were invited to party by Gatsby himself.

When he arrived, the garden was already full of music and laughter. He tried

to find Gatsby, but nobody knew where he was. Then he found Jordan, a

friend of Daisy's. She talked to people gossiping about Gatsby's past. 

After that they went to look for Gatsby inside the house, where they met

a man that was surprised by real books in Gatsby's library. They went back

to the garden. A famous opera singer sang there. Nick sat at a table with a man of about his age. The man looked at him and smiled. They talked about

the war. Nick felt himself much better. Suddenly it turned out that this

man is Gatsby. Nick was surprised. He told Jordan, that he expected Gatsby

to be older, fatter and red-faced. There was something very mysterious

about Gatsby's past - where did the man from nowhere that much money?
