Or, view brochures, videos and photo galleries. At check in I was told Caravelle chose to put us in an efficiency unit in the main bldg. I told her I booked the St Clement efficiency, and she told me the main buildings unit has just been completed. Currently there are only 12 units being rented as ready. I asked this is the building where workman are wearing hardhats during reconstruction. NO I want to be place in St Clement where I originally booked. The day has been calm, evening has come and 2 generators parked next to our balcony has started! I sit here now with the thrum of the generators running beside us. My suggestion, Before booking, ask where they are in recovery of the building repair. The office states the generators will stop between 9 - 10pm. 2,428 reviews sorted by: It was our first time at this property. We parked the car and then were told check-in was across the street. then found only 1 elevator out of 4 was working. At least a 15 minute wait with all our luggage.

everyone coming from the pool past us as we were waiting for the elevator. Room was wonderful (had an efficiency) the balcony was large but there was a big palm tree blocking half of our view. There also the sliding glass door has a raised doorway that you could trip in or out onto the balcony. The room was right next to the garage and you could hear all the car beeps and voices from the garage. They were drilling and banging because of the hurricane meanwhile we were suffering . All the desk said was they were saying was Sorry. we left after 1 day. It took us hours to get there because of 95 being closed. Room Tip: higher floor preferable We had a very unexpected stressful check-in, for a Resort we have been going to for 15 years. First came hurricane Matthew, then came hurricane Caravelle. My reservation was made 2 months in advance. At check-in, the room was not available, due to the hurricane. They wanted me to go to another Motel they selected. I refused the transfer because the room was in an undesirable location.

Besides that, the motel (Forrest Dunes) had no record that I was assigned a room there. Finally the employee listed below got me into a room at Sea Mark, where I stayed for 3 of my seven nights. The last 4 nights were in an Oceanfront efficiency like I requested in my reservation. No one should have to drive 550 miles and find out that they did not have a room where they planned on staying. The refund offer was a slap on the head, and a no-brainer. Where and how was I try to find a room on a Saturday afternoon. I was very disappointed in the way the Caravelle handled their problem, thus making it my problem. The Sea Mark has very nice suites for a family. The room was very clean and had a view of the ocean, but was not oceanfront. There was a private balcony with 2 doors, 3 bedroons, a full kitchen, dining and living room, lots of closets, and 2 baths. The ocean front efficiency room has a private balcony, with a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. It is a nice room for a couple.

Room Tip: Higher floors offer a better view of the ocean and are quieter. “Another good experience on a return visit.” “The Caravelle has everything for the family.” “I never could find a perfect place, but this is close.” “When are you getting new computers?” “Another satisfactory experience at the Caravelle Resort.” “The Caravelle was a good experience.” We loved the Caravelle. The breakfast buffet is the best. Also Essence at check in was awesome and made check in not stressfull. I like the location of the resort too. This was the first time we've stayed on that end of the beach. I have stayed at the caravelle every time except once in the last 15 years. The rates are good and the location is close to all places you want to go or see. Depending on the room you choose you will have a great view of the ocean and plenty of room to move around and enjoy your stay. Parking can be a problem if you have a large van or truck.

I like staying either in the main building or St clements but parking is really hard with my truck but can park within walking distance. So if your planing a vacation to the beach you may want to think about booking your stay with the caravelle... Room Tip: Main building or St. Clements We have stayed here at the Caravelle (jacuzzi suite in the main tower) for several years now and this last trip (9/16-9/23/16) I am sad to say was a bit disappointing. We requested 3rd or 4th floor room, upon arrival we were given 1st floor room-this would have been a deal breaker for us but they did find us a room on the 4th floor. Overall the room was ok. Buttons were missing on the Jacuzzi, but it worked so no big deal there. The toilets only flushed half the time, still not enough to ruin trip. Our issues were that there is one of those great big lights right outside of the balcony (which is off the bedroom/Jacuzzi area) that STAYED ON THE ENTIRE TIME...YES EVEN THROUGHOUT THE DAY!. We could not leave the curtains open at night, it was absolutely blinding.

What a waste of money to leave them all on all day, all of the lights. We had no maid service until Tuesday the 20th, and that was minimal. The girl that took care of our room that day had absolutely no interest in doing her job and acted as we were putting her out when we asked her to vacuum the front kitchen area. If we stay again, I am just going to ask for a weeks worth of towels and a vacuum and do it myself. The indoor pool area had an overwhelming smell of bleach, you couldn't hardly stay in there and the water was cold. That was a first for that, usually it is the hot tubs that are problematic. The grounds are usually kept very neat and clean and in the past we have seen maintenance/grounds persons routinely picking up trash, landscaping etc. For some reason, it deeply bothered me that every time I went out on the balcony, I saw the same piece of trash out on the lawn the entire weekend. It wasn't picked up until Monday, the same day we noticed the grounds being tended to. It was more than obvious they are trying to cut back on things and with the exception of the staff and cooks at the Santa Maria restaurant, the level of service we received and witnessed was less than stellar and not what we have experienced in the past.
