This is a very common issue that we deal with at Garage Doors Unlimited. Below are a few reasons that the lights are out in your opener.Light bulbContacts in the socketLight socketLogic board The Lightbulb: The one that most people always miss is the easiest. Make sure to replace the light bulb before assuming it is any of the other reasons listed above.
Contacts in the socket: If you have replaced the light bulb and still have no light then try the following steps.If, there is a back-up battery, disconnect it. flathead screwdriver, pry the two contacts inside the socket out so that they will make better contact with the bulb. back in, if there is a second light, repeat above steps.If there is a Socket or Logic Board: We recommend testing before having a service technician out but if its either the logic board or the socket we recommend a factory trained technician. To test try the following:Unplug the garage door opener, then immediately plug the opener back into the electricalListen for the light relay on the logic board to click. If you hear a click, replace the light socketIf you do not hear a click, replace the logic board.As always GDU is here to help!
