However, he also insisted on installing a truss along the upper edge of the door for additional support. When I expressed concern that the upper edge of the door was contacting the garage door opener screw drive track, he dismissed my concern. A few minutes later-after he had left-I attempted to open the door and the motor starting capacitor blew, emitting smoke into the garage. Evidently, the added stress of pushing the door against the overhead track put too much load on the capacitor.
I called to request a new capacitor, but was told they are not in stock, and could not be ordered until Monday. I told the customer service representative that I would be out of town all week next week, and that my wife could not open the door manually.
