The button on the wall works, why won't my wireless keyless entry work? Your garage door opener is equipped with an integrated receiver logic board that "talks" to your keyless entry wirelessly, whereas your wall-mounted door control panel is hard-wired. The wireless keyless entry and wired door control operate independently, so it is not uncommon for one device to work while the other does not. The most common cause of failure in a keyless entry is a depleted battery. If the battery has already been replaced the problem may be a failure with the keyless entry or the receiver logic board. Here are some possible causes for your keyless entry not to work or program: Issue with a button on the keypad A temporary PIN has expired (for doors that will close only, but not open from the keyless entry)Most of the keyless entries have a 9-volt battery. Some of the older ones use a 12-volt. Changing the battery in the keypad Needs to be reprogrammed After replacing the battery you may need to reprogram your keyless entry.

How to program a keyless entry PINVideo) If reprogramming does not help, clear the memory of the opener and try to reprogram again. Keep in mind you will need to reprogram any remotes that are currently programmed to your opener. On a keyless entry, it is possible a button on the keypad is not working. Try to program a completely different PIN. If it works, one of the numbers in the old PIN may have stopped functioning. Either use the different PIN or replace the keyless. A temporary PIN has expired A temporary PIN number will no longer open the door once it expires, however, it can still be used to close the door. Clear the memory and program the keyless entry. Surface that the keyless entry is mounted on is causing interference The surface the keyless entry is mounted to may be interfering with the signal. Remove the keyless entry from the mounting surface and test the keyless entry. If the keyless entry works, insert rubber grommets between the keyless entry and the mounting surface.

You can also mount the keyless entry on a small piece of wood. Did any of you get it figured out ? I am also having the exact same problem with mine now. I have a craftsman opener. Wont open with the keypad but it will close with it, and all other remotes and wall mount work fine. Has anybody been able to get theirs figured out? I have the SAME problem! Keypad won't open door, but will close it. Remotes work fine--both open and close door. What is going on!?!? I apologize for not remembering completely how I fixed mine. I think it was a matter of reprogramming the keypad while the garage door was up or down. I don't remember exactly but I think that fixed it. If I remember correctly its like you get stuck halfway in a cycle and can only go up or down depending where your at in the cycle. Check other forums if this doesn't help. I found the answer somewhere. Press the 'learn' button on the opener (for less than 10 seconds). Enter 1-6 digits on the keypad, then press enter (light on opener should blink). Test it and all remotes to ensure they didn't get erased from memory.

Remove the Phillips screw on the battery access cover (lower front). Slide the cover down to remove. Pull the battery (9V) straight out and disconnect.
