When we encounter this kind of situation, we usually recommend our TrenchDrain Drainage Pipe System. Advantages To Our System: Grated Openings Collect Flooding Water Removable Lid For Cleaning & Service Designed To Create No Tripping Hazards Compatible With Our Other Drain Systems Works With Radon Mitigation Systems Includes A Written Lifetime Warranty TrenchDrain resembles half of a basement drainage pipe, with a grated opening fitted snugly on top. The grate is flush or slightly below the floor, eliminating any tripping hazard. It is uniquely designed to span doorways, hatchway entrances, and similar entryway doors. Any water passing over the drain is collected through the openings and redirected to your sump pump.

Our five different French drain systems combine to solve any basement flooding issue -- no matter what that challenges you're facing! To schedule a free, no-obligation drainage pipe installation quote, contact us by phone or e-mail today! Our waterproofing specialists serve throughout our British Columbia service area, including Victoria, Nanaimo, Saanich and nearby. Our TrenchDrain System has a removable lid that can be taken off to remove leaves, dirt, or debris that could clog your system. This drain can also be fitted with a ball-and-cup drain -- making it compatible with an existing radon mitigation system. Many of our customers have the TrenchDrain System installed along the opening to their garage door. In this application, the drain will intercept the water and direct it to your sump pump system. We always recommend installing the drain along the inside of the garage, where it's much less likely to freeze during the winter months. Installing our drain along the inside of the door will also protect the system from clogging with outside debris, such as dirt, sand, sticks, and leaves.

When installing this system on hatchway doors, we will generally recommend installing them inside the hatchway entrance (instead of in the basement itself) when possible. Since the TrenchDrain Drainage Pipe System includes a grated opening, it separates the drain from the basement as much as possible. Including a section of TrenchDrain in your full-perimeter drainage pipe system does not add any additional cost to the completed waterproofing system. Even if your hatchway isn't leaking now, we recommend installing this system just in case. We'd like to provide you with a free basement waterproofing quote for your home. Our free quotes are available to homeowners within our British Columbia service area and include an on-site inspection, a professional consultation, and a written, customized cost quote. Boost Your Curb Appeal Garage doors account for a large portion of your home’s exterior, making them a key factor in boosting curb appeal. Consider investing in a new garage door (and garage door opener) for increased security, comfort and home value. Here are the steps to finding one you love: SHOP GARAGE DOORS & OPENERS 1  Choose your Garage Door Style Large selection of colours and insulation types Customizable frame colour and glass options 2  Select your Garage Door Material Plenty of design options and wood types Can be painted or stained Can be handcrafted to homeowner specifications Available in flush or raised-panel designs Provides the look of wood without the upkeep Won't warp, rot, split or crack Many glass window options available so you can choose the degree of light transmission and privacy 3  Consider your Insulation Needs A garage door is the largest opening to your home, and containing temperature flow throughout your home can be difficult without an insulated garage door.

Consider your climate: Do you have living space above your garage? Do you use your garage often (as a workspace, for example)? An insulated door helps with temperature control and operates more quietly than a non-insulated door. 4  Customize your Design Create a one-of-a kind look with paint colours, wood-grain finishes, windows and decorative hardware. Allow natural light into your garage and complement your home’s exterior with beautiful decorative garage door windows. Styles include square, rectangle and arched. Black powder-coated handles and step plates come standard on select garage doors. To further enhance the design of your door, look for optional decorative hardware, including handles, operable L-keylocks, strap hinges, door knockers and studs. 5  Measure your Garage Door Use the drawing and instructions below to measure your garage door. Remember to bring these measurements with you to your nearest Home Depot store when you’re ready to shop or purchase.

Measure garage door opening width and height. This determines the size of door needed, and the rough opening should be the same size as the door. Measure the clearance (side room) on the left and right side of the garage door opening. There needs to be at least 3-3/4" clearance on either side to accommodate the installation of the vertical track for standard extension spring and torsion spring systems. Specialized spring systems may require more side room. Measure the headroom, which is the distance between the top of the door opening (jamb header) and the ceiling (or floor joist). Standard extension and torsion spring systems generally require 10” to 12” of headroom. If you have restricted headroom, special hardware is available. Additional headroom is required for installation of an automatic garage door opener. Measure the backroom – distance is measured from the garage door opening to the back wall of the garage. Door height plus 18” is required. Additional backroom may be required for installation of an automatic garage door opener.

It’s always recommended that you replace your garage door opener at the same time you replace your garage door. Two types of drives are common: belt drives and chain drives. You can also connect your garage door opener to your smart phone using MyQ Technology. Use a sturdy rubber-like belt (similar to a car's fan belt) to open and close your garage door Generally the quietest type of drive VIEW ALL GARAGE DOOR OPENERS Use a metal chain (similar to a bicycle chain) to open and close your garage door
