Actually 4.5, but really happy with the purchase. It's bulky, but expectedly so. Price and quality can't be beat. Half star off, because I'd prefer two 4 inch futon on top of each other in traditional Japanese style, but no one seems to make this. One big Cali King futon eventually makes for a compacted mattress. That's why we are replacing our last one after 3 years. The price and convenience make this possible. This mattress is high quality, although it is probably too hard for most people. With a latex mattress topper (2 inch), it's one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Without the topper it's definitely too hard for us. We purchased this mattress because we wanted to upgrade to a king sized bed, and we wanted a non-toxic option since I was pregnant at the time, but couldn't afford the expensive wool futons or latex mattresses. This cotton mattress uses boric acid powder as the flame retardant, which is great because the powder is not toxic to humans unless ingested.
We were able to get the mattress, wood bed frame, and 2" latex topper all for cheaper than the cost of one of the expensive natural mattresses. A great deal, and it's very comfortable. I bought this thinking this was a hard mattress. It is better than a lot of spring mattresses out there but not the one I was looking for. me and my husband getting best sleep these days..its so comfortable feels great! def worth to try! seriously been a month we got this bed and literally every morning we woke up and say 'this bed is amazing' no joke every day we say samething! comfortable an fits in a mezzanine space beautifully. Heavy - need a couple of people to lift! Superb comfortable for back pain Very good mattress, we were searching for something really firm and comfortable and this one is exactly the same. mattress is quite heavy to lift. we are now getting comfortable sleep. This one is really very comfortable and give good relief for back pain. Thickness is around 5-6 inches other dimensions are as mentioned.
worth the money spent on this item very happy with the mattress This mattress is ideal for people from south asia/India. After 8 years in USA, this is the first mattress which feels very similar to the mattresses we get in india. I am very happy and highly recommend this mattress. This is an excellent mattress. Hard and very comfortable. It was not delivered in a vacuum sealed bag, so I did not have to un compress it before using. There is no chemical smell to it either. I have been using it for two weeks now and just love it. It was delivered with goos packing, no issues. Matress is good, but very pluffy and soft. Have to start using and see how it takes weight. Best if you have back pain My wife has back pain and the moment she lies on the bed, she can say if it's good for her back or not. I knew indian style mattresses made of cotton are good for back. Searched cotton mattress on Google and this showed up. Reviews mentioned that this is like an Indian mattress and yes it is like an Indian mattress and is very comfortable to sleep on.
Got a king size mattress for around $*.. We use this on a platform bed which we got for around $*.hope this review helps all. And yes the mattress is very heavy! This is good cotton godalu/ mattress. After a while, cotton moves away from your sleep spot so you have to move it, and it is very heavy. The fabric is too thin. Only single layer of fabric. Queen size fabric is way stronger and better than King size. Queens size has double fabric while King has only single. Company send me cover for King size but was only of the same thin quality. No color choices for King size. good for backpain issue I still have to try this for little longer but overall happy with the purchase. Bought it for backpain issues my wife was having. So far so good but will update my findings possibly after few months We love our futon! We got rid of our expensive memory foam mattress and traded it in for this mattress combined with 1) a futon platform bed frame and 2) a 3" slab memory foam topper.
We couldn't be happier! My husband has back problems and has no issues with this bed. It's an economical choice, but our primary concern was comfort and that's what we have in this mattress. My back started aching after using this mattress.I would like to return this as I am not at all happy with this.Dont buy this mattress!! mild usage , but the mattress started sagging from different areas I love, love, love the mattress. I was grown up where we use to sleep on really firm mattresses and this one is almost as firm as it can get. As another reviewer says, it is perfect for "Asian Indian people". Being one, I could not agree more. We are so used to it, that we have difficulty sleeping in hotels or vacation rentals unless they have extra firm mattresses. If needed, I would buy more of these without a thought! Would recommend for anyone who likes firm mattresses. looses shape and fill - heavy but not supportive This mattress is very heavy and started off solid but over time the fill "broke down" making the cover loose and the surface depressed and not well for support....move and move give and depression.
