Edit ArticleHow to Deal with Bedbugs Three Parts:Killing the bedbugsCleaningDealing with going through a bedbug infestationCommunity Q&A Ugh... bedbugs - a subject no one wants to talk about. Whether they are on your carpet or bed, there's always ways to deal with them. It's not the end of the world! Just read this article and you'll find a resolution to the situation. Learn how to kill bedbugs. Use rubbing alcohol or water and detergent applied from a good, big spray bottle. The spray bottles from home improvement and department stores are adequate. A better buy would be to use used and higher quality spray bottles for laundry pre-treatment, glass cleaners, car interior cleaners etc. Alcohol - buy several large bottles of 70% rubbing alcohol and mix them with water at no less than 50% strength. Drench the ribbings of the mattresses and box springs, cracks where the walls and floors meet, and all cracks and crevices in chairs, furniture and other places. Alternatively, use 90% rubbing alcohol and do not dilute;

saturate the seams of the mattress. This kills them instantly but do open your windows for a while.Use this like rubbing alcohol and for cleaning of the bed before you encapsulate it. Detergent is a better cleaner than rubbing alcohol and kills bedbugs quickly. Clean and organize, this is a very important. Cleaning includes washing clothes, sheets, pillows and rugs. Wipe down storage containers, and under and behind shelves and desks. Remember that nearly every household has bed bugs. Your neighbors or your friends might not mention it but they actually have an infested house. Always think on the bright side. Did you get bitten by one? If you did, it's not a big deal because you can cure it. When you kill the bedbugs, it's a done feat. Read what others have done to get rid of bedbugs. Get help if you cannot move your bed and furniture, if you cannot bend and reach in those hard to get at places when cleaning, if you are busy and can afford it.

However, be wary of using insecticides for health reasons and because they have little residual effect. Bed bugs do go into electrical outlets and this is where an aerosol spray would be safer to use on after you turn off the power. Dealing with bedbugs comprehensively is not spending a fortune or using insecticides and other methods. Bedbug are living things, they have to eat, breathe and have weaknesses: they are slow moving, cannot jump, cannot fly and cannot climb on slippery surfaces. When mating bedbugs are big and can be easily killed, so even if you cannot spot or kill the smaller ones, they will not be able to mate because you will find and spot kill them then at that stage of their development where they will be very visible and slow moving. Encapsulate them in mattresses and box springs. They are sharing the limited air with other micro organisms. They will die from the severe lack of oxygen and starvation. CO2 bait traps may or may not work. Bed bugs are attracted to humans by CO2, heat, and other factors.

Be knowledgeable about bedbugs, be prepared and have a plan to deal with them in the many situations when you are away from home. The simplest and most economic plan: drape a big sheet of plastic over your bed (or sofa) that goes over the mattress and box-spring. Do not let your blanket or comforter become a bridge, to let the bedbugs crawl to the bed from the floor or wall. If all you did was cover your bed with a plastic sheet and cleaned everything vigorously, you would eliminate your bedbug problem. It would not be necessary to use insecticides, vapor bombs, rubbing alcohol, mattress and box spring covers, exterminators, CO2 traps, spray bottles, diatomaceous earth sprinkling, heat treatments, freezing etc. Do not let your bed come into contact with the wall day or night. Inspect everything that you place over your plastic shield. If you have not dealt with or seen bedbugs, the first few nights will be sheer terror because bedbugs draw a lot of blood. Bedbugs draw a lot more blood than mosquitoes but do not spread diseases like them.

Resolve to spend, a certain amount of time, each day to remedy your terrible situation.I would definitely recommend it!! Full 8-inch Quality Futon Mattress See all Blazing Needles /  See all Blazing Needles Futons I ordered the "sage" and it is a pretty, pale green maybe closer to olive than the dusty blueish color of dessert sage here in Phoenix. But its clean and crisp and makes the room look fresh. The mattress is not as dense as the one it replaces but it will be just fine for our guest room. The packaging for shipment was nothing short of fabulous! It was easy to handle and could be unpacked and put in place by myself, no help needed. Within a day or two it was fully "inflated" and looked great. A very good purchase. I was really surprised by the quality of the futon mattress After a couple of days when it puffed up from being vacuum packed. It's soft yet firm and sits very comfortable. Very happy with my choice. It's actually better quality than the one that came on the futon.

Nice comfortable mattress for kids futon. great mattress for the price Considering this mattress is supposed to have 3 layers of foam inside, I would have expect more support. I am 115 lb adult woman, and I can feel the bars of my futon frame underneath my butt and in my back. I'm embarrassed to have friends come over, because this is not worth sitting on, not to mention sleeping on. Yeah price is great, but it's not worth it. To return it, I loose $40 in shipping ASSUMING I can even figure out a way to ship it back- to get it back in the box I'd need to BUY a large enough air bag and vacuum the air out- which is another $30. So whats the point. I pay for a crappy futon, and can't even get my money back. Do yourself a favor and buy one from a STORE, not online. That way, if it sucks, you can at least return it with less hassle, and get more money back. I don't have much new to say about the futon mattress. It arrived earlier than expected, and it was vacuum-packed into a box.

Once out, the mattress was very flat and smelled kind of funny. After 48 hours, it puffed up pretty good, but not to the full 8" (and it never has). I sleep well on it at night, but it is still very much a futon mattress, so don't expect it to be more (like I did). The sage color is nice, and the price is great, especially with the $2.95 or free shipping. was 6 inches, not 8 well, i would have given this more stars for an overall rating, but i purchased this a several months ago, and when i finally purchased a frame to put it in, it was 2 inches smaller in thickness than it claimed to be. i had no way of shipping it back, and i was very disappointed that i paid for an 8 inch mattress and only got a 6 inch one. i had seen others were in the same boat about the time that i purchased mine but never figured that it would happen...but it did. it was supposed to 'expand' to 8 inches, but it is definitely a 6 inch mattress--i measured it to be sure. i hope that this issue has since been resolved for the rest of you looking at this item.

beyond the wrong thickness of the mattress, it otherwise serves its purpose. We bought this mattress to go with a futon frame that our daughter was taking to college. We did not want to spend a lot of money, but we didn't want to waste money on something cheap. This mattress fit our needs and our daughter's needs perfectly. It meets the strict safety fire codes of the dorm - very important! She and her 2 roommates are very happy and comfortable with the mattress. This is perfect for my daughter's room...the only complaint I have is that the smell is still lingering after a week of it being unpackaged!! It's a strong fabric smelll...not bad, just makes you wonder when it's going to go away! It seems to be a very good quality and the thickness is awesome (maybe a bit too thick as the frame we have doesn't keep it from slipping when the frame is set up as a couch, but that's not the fault of the mattress). It is very comfortable, was packaged wonderfully, and arrived in usual O.co FAST fashion!
