I was very happy with the comfort and most of all the price! This thing is on par with my very expensive mattress in my bedroom. My son sleeps very well on this and loves it. I have even caught my wife takin a nap on it with my son. We will soon be buying me the pink one for the other bunk for my daughter! We should've bought the CoolKidz mattress to begin with but we were trying to save a little money at the time. This mattress is super comfy. For my granddaughter's bed we purchased it with the box springs, but my grandson did not need the box springs and it feels just the same. Good mattress for a great price. A descent mattress for my purpose I bought this mattress (without the spring box) because I was looking for something inexpensive and with a thinner thickness, specifically for the upper level of a children's bunk bed. This one sits well below the top rail of the upper bunk, reducing the risk of accidental roll-off. So far, I have not found any brand with the same thickness or less. The other option would be memory foam but that would require changing of some bed frame hardware.
