However, like all mattress sizes, actual length and width will vary according to the brand, so be sure to measure carefully when buying your full size mattress to a specific bed frame or headboard. Full-size mattresses come in many different comfort levels and support structures to meet your individual preferences. To select the right one for you, it helps to understand the different types of mattresses. First identify whether you want an innerspring, memory foam or hybrid mattress. Then determine whether you want firm, extra firm or plush. Your decision will depend on whether you have any health issues that require a certain type of mattress, and how you like to sleep. Some people like a firmer mattress that gives the ultimate in support, while others prefer a softer, more contoured feel from their mattress full size. Once you’ve decided on the mattress type and comfort level, the next step is to select several potential candidates, visit and showroom and actually try them out.
