Julian Summerhayes

Do you remember the series Record Breakers, hosted by the late Roy Castle?

I do.

As a kid, it used to blow my mind thinking what was possible.

But, rarely, did you get to see behind the scenes: you saw the end product -- the record -- but not the blood, sweat and tears to get that point. ("Dedication...that's what you need...".)

It would be nice to think we could all break a World Record, but, rarely, do we aim that high. We lack the self-belief mostly or the all-consuming passion to move from the ordinary to the extra-ordinary.

Why?

That's the question.

Why?

In the end, though, no matter the introspection, the only way to find out, is to apply yourself one minute, one hour, one day at a time.

Life,

let it mean something more than what you've come to expect.
