Great value Airport Taxis with Mainland Airport Link. this is a very big castle with lots of walking over coble stones, built on a hill (they usually are) so wear flat shoes or boots! don't miss queen Marys dolls house. St Georges hall is spectacular. a good day out Windsor Castle is a great example of British tradition - from the vast tapestries to the elaborate room displays, Windsor Castle is definitely a must see! WOW were my words whenever i entered a State apartment. I must say i felt proud to be british looking around this magnificent Castle. We are so lucky to have so much History and sometimes i know I do not appreciate it. I thought that it was well worth the entrance fee, Everyone we spoke to told us something really... Beyond words an experience that will not be surpassed , surreal experience not to be missed a return visit a must The castle is a fabulous place to visit plenty to see and do for all the family. Steeped in history and culture and a living residence of the royal family.
At the entrance there is sometimes queuing. Remember to take your 'Advantage Card' if a resident in the Royal Borough. Recommend the audio guide to give history and information of...Lots to see, living history. I use a wheelchair for this type of touring and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. No problems Ticket can be stamped on exit to allow re-visits to this property - great idea. Just returned from visiting Windsor Castle and I've genuinely found that reviewing it and deciding what rating to give has been very difficult. I've plumped for average but if 3.5 had been available that's what it would have scored. On reflection I left feeling slightly underwhelmed - maybe due to my high expectations.......Anyhow here's my summary - A well preserved piece of history in the U.K. All British Monarchs have resided at Windsor Castle, and The Queen sought refuge here as a child during World War II. Stunning buildings and workers are offered small cottages to retire in within Windsor Castle grounds.
