When is HEAVY MONTRÉAL? HEAVY MONTRÉAL 2016 takes place on August 6 and 7. Doors open at 11:30am, and performances begin at 12:30pm. Performances end at 11:00pm. Where is HEAVY MONTRÉAL? HEAVY MONTRÉAL takes place at Plaine des Jeux, Parc Jean-Drapeau, located on the island of Ile Sainte-Hélène just minutes away from downtown Montreal. Please visit our "Getting to HEAVY MONTRÉAL" page to learn the best ways to get to the festival. What amenities can I find at HEAVY MONTRÉAL? Many choices of food vendors Water and other refreshments Beer and other alcoholic beverages Clean toilets located conveniently throughout the site Recycling and compost bins Lockers available for rent What can I eat at HEAVY MONTRÉAL? Many kiosks and the city’s famous food trucks will be on site at HEAVY MONTRÉAL to offer fans a variety of delicious festival food, including burgers and poutine, subs and sandwiches, pizza, sushi and much more!




Beverages from water to beer and other spirits can be purchased on site. The legal drinking age in Quebec is 18 years old. If you are planning on consuming alcohol at the festival, please bring two (2) valid pieces of ID and be sure to drink responsibly. HEAVY MONTRÉAL festival goers may bring a clear plastic water bottle with them on site, and water refill stations will be provided. Festival goers may be asked to empty their bottle before entering the festival. No alcohol may be brought in from outside. Festival goers are allowed to bring food for personal consumption (ex: a sandwich, a fruit and a granola bar). Coolers or lunch boxes are not allowed on the site. What is there to do after the show? HEAVY MONTRÉAL ends at 11:00pm each night, but don’t let that stop you! Keep the party going at one of the official afterparties and check out all that Montreal has to offer! Saint-Laurent Boulevard (known as “The Main”) or rue Saint-Denis are always a fair bet.




We suggest asking some locals where the best watering holes are, or what restaurant to hit up for a tasty post-festival treat. Poutine, bagels and smoked meat are among the must-have food for any visitor seeking a real Montréal experience. What is Montreal's weather like during the festival? August in Montreal is usually warm and sunny, so bring plenty of sunscreen and some shades to protect yourself from those rays. Keep an eye on the forecast, and if the weather is less than ideal, please do come prepared. What if it rains? As the saying goes, "The show must go on!" HEAVY MONTRÉAL takes place rain or shine. Please check the weather prior to coming to HEAVY MONTRÉAL and if there’s a high chance of rain we suggest bringing a pocket-sized poncho and a sweatshirt or windbreaker. Can I bring my camera to HEAVY MONTRÉAL? Yes, cameras are permitted at HEAVY MONTRÉAL. Please note, however, that professional video and audio recording equipment is not permitted at the festival.




Here is a complete list of what is and what is not permitted on site at HEAVY MONTRÉAL: ITEMS ALLOWED ON THE FESTIVAL SITE One (1) plastic water bottle (water fountains on site) Beach towels and blankets Waterproof ponchos / small umbrellas Small backpacks and bags / purses (please note: all bags will be searched) Sunscreen (except sunscreen in flammable aerosol cans) Digital cameras (except professional video equipment) ITEMS NOT ALLOWED ON THE FESTIVAL SITE Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia Glass bottles and cans Beach balls, soccer balls, Frisbees, etc. Animals (except guide dogs) Large backpacks (camping style) Professional video / audio recording equipment Selfie sticks or similar monopods Items intended for sale / promotion Firearms, knives, or weapons of any kind Any object that can be used to cause bodily harm First Nations headdress and other feather headdresses.* * The First Nations Headdresses have a spiritual and cultural meaning in the native communities and to respect and honor their people, Osheaga, Heavy Montreal and îleSoniq ask fans and artists attending the festivals to not use this symbol as a fashion accessory.




Items that are on the disallowed list will be confiscated. We recommend not bringing them to the event site at all to save you the extra hassle. Some items on the disallowed list (backpacks, folding chairs, etc.) may be left at the coat check. See below for more information. Is there a coat check/bag check or locker room at HEAVY MONTRÉAL? Yes, the coat check is located just outside of the festival gates. Please note that the coat check fee is $2.50 per item (*Subject to change). Lockers to stow your personal items are also available for $15 a day. We provide safe, secure, and easy storage with ALL-DAY access so you can come and go to your locker at any time! Is there a Lost & Found at HEAVY MONTRÉAL? The Lost & Found is located at the Information Kiosk near the site entrance. Our staff there will be happy to help reunite you with your lost item. In the unfortunate event that your lost item is not immediately found, please send us an email at prodfest@evenko.ca including a detailed description of your lost item or reach us by phone at (514) 521-SHOW (7469).
