Easy, safe, no mess, and effective!Living in Florida we get a lot of different bugs! I have a 2 year old, a dog, and a cat so I really don't want to use any kind of chemical repellent as it just isn't safe around them. Bug bombs are just a pain to put off as you have to pack everything away, and then put it back out, and they are just messy, and again I am just not comfortable with the fumes they put off. We don't have the extra money to hire a pest control company, so this is a much safer and cheaper alternative. We don't have a huge bug problem, but the biggest issue is the palmetto bugs. Since we have three big king palms in our yard by our front door, they wind up coming in the house. I hate seeing them, and they freak me out, as they are big! The other issue is spiders. I haven't really seen very many, but I know they are around. Then in the warmer months the mosquitoes are horrible! I have been using these ultrasonic units for awhile, and have one in a lot of different rooms in our house.
They aren't 100% effective, and I have still seen a few bugs here and there, but they have definitely decreased in number since I started using these. I honestly am a believer in their effectiveness. This particular unit is different than any of the other ones I have tried in that it comes with a nightlight built into it. This is nice if you want to plug it into a bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen it puts off enough light to be able to see a bit in the dark. I really like that. I have it plugged into my daughters room at the moment, and I like that it puts off just enough light to keep her from being scared of the dark, and I can see if I want to check on her without turning on a light.
