For now, a throw pillow braces the forward fall of the back. We also keep it propped against a wall, which helps with support in the other direction. Despite that one somewhat annoying defect, this chair still offers excellent bang for the buck and it's exactly what we needed for our toddler's room. We wanted to replace our larger recliner from her baby era with something that: (a) We could still cuddle on for story time (b) She could climb on & off by herself. No more lifting her up every time she wants to take a break and run around the room; she can just crawl on up & down as she pleases with no stress on my back -- huge bonus for this pregnant mom! (c) We could pull put into a FULL LENGTH ADULT SIZE bed for those nights where she is having trouble (teething, etc.) and needs one of us in the room. (d) Looks good and resists cat hair. (e) Is neither a $xxx fashionable chair or a crappy-looking bean bag dorm room thing. After much searching around, we found this chair fits the bill in for all of the above.
Beware futon chairs of similar cost that only unfold large enough to sleep a small child. This really does offer a comfortable night's sleep for an adult. My 6' husband agrees. I think this would also be great in a TV room / family room. good for what it is Bought this for daughter's dorm room. as noted in other reviews the design does result in back tilting forward when you sit in chair. Mitigated some if against wall or have small throw pillow. However, the chair 'sits' at a more comfortable height than most bean bag types and is much firmer than other foam chairs we looked at. Not the best piece but ok for the price. A bit massive, doesn't fold properly. Only good when it's fold out for sleeping. If you want to $150 for a piece of foam this is perfect!
