This review was posted in 2015 but I have updated it after reviewing the new 2016 model of the Alexander Signature select. Both models were given to me free by Nest Bedding. There have been some great improvements with the 2016 model one of the most notable is that the cover is made with a phase change technology that adapts to your body heat to keep you cool at night. Nest bedding is still my favorite mattress company. That’s because they provide amazing products at great prices. In this review I test out the Alexander Signature Select mattress from Nest Bedding. This bed is a significant step up from The Love Bed which is really saying something because they set the bar high with that mattress. As I’ve said before, if money is going into making a fancy box, that’s less money going into a quality mattress.

When unboxing the mattress, you will notice that it is NOT folded in half. Why does this matter? It matters because folding the mattress on itself and compressing it can cause unnecessary stress and may affect he overall lifespan of the mattress. You can choose from 3 levels of firmness which is another distinguishing feature of Nest Bedding that sets the Alexander Signature Select apart from the likes of the one mattress for all model. The Alexander Mattress is so far my favorite mattress. As you can see, this is a very substantial mattress. It is listed as being 12.5 inches in height. The Alexander Signature Select mattress also has very little motion transfer. This is right up there with top of the line memory foam mattresses in terms of motion transfer. But what makes this mattress better is that you don’t get that stuck in the mud feeling. You sink in just enough and the mattress recovers very rapidly. All these tests are done on a medium firmness mattress.
You can extrapolate how a firm and soft would sink in from this picture. This mattress has just the right amount of sink for me. My wife also found this mattress to be a little softer than the Love Bed which she preferred. That said, this bed is more accommodating to various sleep preferences than most of the other beds I have reviewed.
