When you press on the middle of the mattress it goes down more than 1.50 inches from the head and foot of the bed is this not a defect.Any mattress will compress when weight is applied to the sleep surface, where the comfort layers made of foams and fiber are. The foundation that I currently have is from a Sealy Posturepedic set and is in good condition. Will putting my new Serta on the Sealy foundation void the warranty? I went to the lumber yard and had them cut 1" pieces from a 4x4 fence post unscrewed the feet that came with the bed frame and set the corners of the box frame on the 4x4 pieces. Made the bed shorter and easier to get in and out of. Crawling in and out of a bed was not an option as I have Arthritis, now I am able to sit on the edge of the bed and swing my legs onto the bed.
