Astronights sleepovers are for adults over the age of 18 years and not for children. We regularly run a children’s sleepover event called Science Night, which we'd encourage younger Science Museum fans to come along to instead. What can I see in the museum? Alongside our special activities, events, films and exhibitions for the evening, you will also be able to experience the museum galleries without the crowds. You will sleep on the floor among our incredible objects. We will use the Wellcome Wing as a sleeping area. You can sleep anywhere in the allotted galleries but we can't reserve spots for groups. You will get to choose the area in the gallery you sleep in but on a first come first serve basis. Can I bring an air mattress? Due to health and safety restrictions we can't allow air mattresses. Will we get any sleep? We try and encourage guests to keep noise to a minimum, but please don’t expect to get your normal quota of beauty sleep. The film will run until 03.30, but you're welcome to retire early if you wish.
Sleeping area lights out at 01.00. Emergency lighting will remain switched on throughout the night. Will there be food to buy on the night? Your ticket includes a drink on arrival and your choice of dinner from our pop-up street food bazaar. There will also be some light snacks and nibbles on sale at our bars. Will there be alcohol to buy on the night? There will be bars selling alcohol and soft drinks until 00.30. Please drink responsibly - it's at the sleepover manager’s discretion as to whether you are served alcohol throughout the event. The bars will take both cards and cash. There's also a cash machine at the museum on the ground floor. You can't bring your own alcohol to the event. What do I do if I need to cancel? We don't offer refunds, sorry. What do I do if I'm running late? The Science Museum main entrance will be open until 20.00. If you arrive later than 19.30 you may miss the beginning of some of the events.

The nearest tube station is South Kensington (Piccadilly, District and Circle lines). There is limited parking nearby. There are six Blue Badge parking spaces directly outside the main Science Museum entrance. You are welcome to take photographs but please be considerate of the other guests. Photography in some special exhibitions isn't allowed due to our object-loan agreements. Do you have shower facilities? Sadly we do not have shower facilities. All guests can use the Museum toilets for their ablutions. Is there a cloakroom I can use? The cloakroom will be closed throughout the sleepover. If you wish to spend the day in the Museum directly after the event, the main cloakroom will be open from 10.00. Will there be somewhere to smoke? You will be able to smoke outside the main Science Museum doors until 00.30.
This is the only place you will be able to smoke. The Science Museum is a smoke-free building which includes e-cigarettes. If you'd like more information on accessibility in the museum or discuss any special requirements please email astronights@sciencemuseum.ac.uk. What do I need to bring with me? We recommend that you bring some of the following items: We will provide you with a thin foam camping mat. Please do not bring inflatable mattresses. What happens if I fall ill at Astronights? We have several trained first-aiders on site throughout the duration of the sleepover. Can I leave the museum during the sleepover? Only in exceptional circumstances can you leave during the sleepover event. If you or any member of your group returns to the Science Museum, entry is at the discretion of the sleepover manager. Please always speak to staff members before leaving the building. This doesn't apply to the smoking area. How can I contact the Science Museum in an emergency during the event?
