Comfy and well made. Nice large in size. Great over memory foam topper We've had this mattress pad for over 5 years, and it is great. We first bought to go over a too-hard newly purchased mattress. That combination didn't quite do it, but adding a 3" memory foam topper between the mattress and the pad did the trick. We have just replaced the memory foam, but the lambs wool pad is in great shape and should last a lifetime.
When we change the sheets, we do a little "finger taking" to fluff it up a bit. No more sweaty hubby! My hubby sweats terribly at night no matter what season but especially in the summer. I bought this in July and he has not sweat at night since! I had read that these keep you cool in the summer and warm in winter and it is True! The pad's elastic-rimmed box fits beautifully over my 17" thick mattress and keeps the pad from shifting. While I haven't washed the pad yet, I've read in the other reviews that it washes up beautifully and even softer and fluffier than it is already -- something for me to look forward to! BTW, I didn't notice any smell at all and wonder what some of the reviewers are going on about -- it's wool and if it gets wet it BETTER smell like wool of I want a REFUND :-) If it doesn't smell like wool that means it's either been treated with something I don't want near my body or someone is passing off a very fancy synthetic imitation, neither of which are desirable. Helped to end the sweating! We were waking up on our memory foam mattress soaking wet every night. We were sweating constantly. This cover has helped to end that problem. The first time I made the bed, the sheets didn't want to stay on good, but seems fine with another set of sheets. Our mattress is 12 inches. It fit fine, with plenty of room to spare.
Glad we bought it. these sheep need some conditionerKnowing how much some lambswool mattress pads cost, I knew that I wasn't getting top quality. And, to be truthful, it is not a bad buy. But it's also not the luxuriously soft and silky feel that you get from a high-quality "real" lambswool (i.e. sheep fleece) mattress pad. My husband and I like to sleep directly on the fleece in the winter, and this one is just a little too scratchy to do that. But, if you're looking for a warm layer to go under sheets, it's certainly worth the relatively minor investment. Excellent...soft and cozy as stated. Fits beautifully on king mattress. It has not been treated with any chemicals. It should not have an odor. It comes to you in a plastic bag, that would be the only thing that may cause an odor. The mattress pad itself does not have any odor. If you are sensitive to plastic, just take it out immediately and air it out.
