UL provides the latest fire testing capabilities to the door industry. With unmatched experience and insight, we have helped write many of the industry test standards that are referenced in building codes. Our fire safety team evaluates a wide range of products for fire resistance and performance, including doors,  frames, locks, closers, hinges and other door accessories. UL staff can conduct full fire-testing capabilities at UL or at one of our partner laboratories, with both large and small furnaces available, including a modern panel furnace. UL also offers testing and assessment services for fire doors and fire door hardware to various British (current and previous editions of BS 476 Parts 22 and 23), Canadian (ULC/CAN-S104, ULC/CAN-S105 and ULC/CAN-S106) and European standards (for example, EN 1364-1, EN 1634-1 and EN 1634-3) as well as the IMO Fire Test Protocol. Additionally, UL is  capable of establishing windstorm certifications for door products in accordance with TAS Protocols, ASTM and ANSI/ICC standards for hurricane and tornado resistance.

UL performs performance testing of hardware per ANSI/BHMA test standards.
