Frequently Asked Questions

1. I’m using MIUI/(any other custom ROM available). How do I flash Crdroid?

- Download CrDroid, vendor (in case you don’t have the latest one), Gapps, Magisk (optional) and FDE (optional).

- Go to the recovery of your choice and wipe System, Data, Dalvik Cache and Cache. If you’re encrypted, then do the “basic” wipes + Internal storage. You can always Format Data, but in any case, your data will be LOST!!

- Flash vendor, rom, apps, magisk and dfe zip.

- Reboot.

2. What vendor Crdroid supports?

- The minimum supported vendor is 9.4.26. Anything after that will work. For the most stable experience possible (ghost touches, for example), then use 9.6.24

3. What’s the recommended gapps?

- Our personal recommendation is Nano Gapps. No Google bloatware, just minimum Google stuff.

4. Does Crdroid support OTA?

- Yes! Every time our maintainer releases a new stable build, you’ll receive a notification.

5. How do I update?

- Although clean flash is recommended, you can safely dirty flash. The procedure is:

- Go to the recovery.

- Wipe System, Dalvik Cache and Cache.

- Flash the new update and gapps.

- Reboot to the system.

- Enter to the recovery again and flash Magisk.

For those who use a different kernel or any TWRP mods: after the first boot, flash kernel/mod.

6. Which one is better Nightly or Stable ?

- Both are good. Nightly rom is just the last stable with bug fixes that were reported to the dev/Crdroid Team or new features which will make it in to next stable update. It’s up to you to choose between them.

7. I am facing slow charging. Could it be a ROM issue?

- No. It is your weather temperature which is causing the slow down. You can try thermal mods like "Morpho" if you don't care about thermals and want max speed and performance. Your phone will heat up by a couple of degree’s, so please don't complain here.

8. I am facing a random bug. What should I do?

- First. clean Dalvik cache and cache and check if the problem persists.

- If not, do a clean flash if possible.

- In case it still persists, follow these steps:

- Take a note of the steps on how to reproduce your problem. Make sure you are rooted.

- Type "#logcat" in the chat and follow the steps given.

- Send the log file along with the steps to reproduce your problem in the group or dm "Gabriel" (our maintainer).

9. Does Crdroid support F2FS system?

- Yes, it does. Since Crdroid uses Optimus Drunk Kernel (By Nick), it supports F2FS.

10. Can I update vendor on Crdroid?

- Yes, you can. Just flash the vendor file and the DFE zip, so you won’t get encrypted.

11. Does Crdroid support audio mods like Viper?

- Yes:

- Flash whatever audio mod you want and the Viper Fix. You can get it using #viperfix on the chat, it's a magisk module.

- Reboot

- Done.

12. I am on latest nightly/stable build. So can I update to latest stable/nightly build?

-Yes

-For updating procedure follow steps mentioned in question number 5.

13. Do banking apps work on Crdroid?

-No , since this rom is shipped with built-in adb su.
