Hello friends, I will try to give my own opinion on the topic of faith.

When trying to have a discussion about religion with people faith is often used as a sort of tool to make a point easier to communicate because as a tool it's often used to patch holes in explanation for one's belief.

1. 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗔𝗦

Faith is only being used to hope for ONLY positive outcomes is its greatest downfall. It’s like placing all the bets in one place and hope that it will be a win.

One would only use faith to hope for something beneficial and not for a negative outcome because it’s natural for us to want something that will benefit us and obviously we have no ability to see the future too bad faith doesn’t magically provide its user with that. So, when one’s faith about something didn’t turn positive (like most circumstances) then faith already failed.

A mother who has strong faith that her son with leukemia would be healed by all the medication. If the child survived, her faith saved her kid but when her child die, faith will magically disappear and explained away as purposeful.

𝟮. 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗥𝗨𝗚

Faith is a confidence boosting drug. It is used to boost the user’s confidence in something. The usual way of explaining unexplainable event is by assessing all the possible evidence usually by the use of deductive, inductive and abductive reasoning. No matter what reasoning is used we can have a result that we can have a percentage of confidence in based on how compelling the data is we can call this reasonable expectation based on evidence.

But When people who uses faith are faced with a same circumstance that seemed unexplainable at first they take the nearest possible explanation by faith no matter how ridiculous it may seem as long as it’s convenient because their confidence in it was already artificially boosted by faith. Confidence does not mean certaintity. A person with faith can have all the confidence in the world but still be WRONG

The position taken by faith may or may not be true but the mere fact that IT IS NOT AN ABSOLUTE way to achieve the truth already a compelling evidence that it’s just a confidence boosting drug

3. FAITH IS A BAD EVIDENCE
Faith based evidence are bad because it offers vague answers to vague questions. When a position is taken by faith it will never give a person using faith the real answer instead it will offer a satisfying solution
