Dear Students,

With the proposed back-to-work legislation potentially seeing a return to class for students next week, we are releasing our revised schedule for the fall and winter semesters. The schedule below presumes a return to class this week but may change if events require it.

We have had to make some changes to the semester, but have taken the input of the Student Association Executive to minimize the impacts on your vacation time, while we maintain the quality of your learning. One of those decisions is to restore the winter intersession to its original week, February 26 to March 2.

Other key dates:

  • NEW Fall semester will continue into the New Year. Fall semester classes will resume after the December holidays on January 8 and run through to January 19.
  • Please note: There may be some exceptions to start dates for some programs (e.g. Early Childhood Education, English as a Second Language) – and we will post these as soon as they are confirmed.
  • NEW – There will be no classes the week of January 22 to 26. Because of the extension of the fall semester, this week will allow for marking, inputting grades into our systems and preparation for the winter semester.
  • NEW - Winter semester will start on January 29, not January 8 as planned.
  • NEW – Winter intersession will be held during its originally planned week, February 26 to March 2.
  • NEW – Winter semester will now end April 27 to allow us to complete the semester without compromising academic objectives.

As we’ve shared before, classes, labs and work placements prior to the holidays will continue into the week of December 18 – 22.

We realize that many of our students have experienced great stress and concern for their academic status during the strike. We encourage them to take advantage of the college’s personal or academic counseling as needed to help with their transition back to school. These services are available immediately, through the balance of the semester.
