Currently there are more than 40 different player-controlled vehicle types known to exist in the game, but not every vehicle type is accessible to every player. While many of the vehicles can be crafted by engineers, others are available only through quests or as special rewards. Many vehicles offer a form of mounted protection that grants the player a bonus to ranged weapon avoidance while riding. For all of their benefits, vehicle ownership can sometimes be a burden, especially if you own one of the game's rare vehicles.

Vehicles can become damaged when combat is initiated on them. While both PCs and NPCs can cause vehicle damage, NPCs will usually only damage a vehicle if their attacks are grenade-based. In addition, creatures have also been known to cause damage to vehicles. Once a vehicle has become damaged (without being disabled), it can be repaired at any Parking Garage for a nominal fee. To repair a vehicle, select it and access the radial menu; a repair option will appear. The amount of damage each vehicle can take is different for each type, but universally, when a vehicle reaches zero condition, it becomes disabled. A vehicle that has been disabled cannot be used again until it is repaired with a Vehicle Restoration Kit, or restored at a garage for specific vehicles. Restoration kits are often difficult to find and are usually quite expensive; they are mostly reserved for the repair of valuable or rare vehicles. Some vehicles have the ability to hold multiple people. If a person is in the same group as the driver of a multi-person vehicle, they can enter the vehicle by selecting it, accessing the radial menu, and choosing the 'Enter/Exit Vehicle' command.

Then, another one of The Ants lights his tongue with a match. Let's imagine that the miniature oil cans exist. In the first place, if it's spilled all the way through Sniffles' tongue and thrown away down his throat, he can choke on the can and the oil in his tongue would probably intoxicate him. In the second place, if a match lights up his tongue the fire can't make combustion with the oil if it's spilled over a wet surface like an animal's tongue and, for the worst, it can slightly burn his tongue and wipe off in a mere milliseconds. One of the Ants pours the can all the way through Sniffles' tongue and throws it away down his throat, making it to his stomach. Another ant lights up his tongue, causing the fire to spread all over it until his stomach, and Sniffles' upper half explodes.

"What the hell are these things, and why are they wearing science team uniforms!?" ―Black Mesa Security Guard[src] The Standard Zombie is the most common Zombie form seen in the Half-Life series.

They are the manifestation of a standard Headcrab attaching to a victim's cranium and taking over their nervous system. Once a Headcrab successfully attaches to a host, the Headcrab will assume control of all their motor functions, able to walk and attack with the host's arms and legs. Through some unknown biological process, the host's hands turn into long, skeletal claws and a massive hole appears in their chest lined with the hosts' ribs, becoming a makeshift "mouth," with their ribs serving as teeth (Zombies have been observed to feed by ripping chunks of flesh off of corpses and stuffing them into this maw) Removal of the Headcrab reveals that the host's head is bent abnormally upwards, their hair is matted with blood, and their face is pale, with their eyes shut and mouth open in a frozen scream. Occasionally, Headcrab Zombies may survive losing both legs and their lower torso, and continue to crawl along using their arms, in this state the Zombie is more dangerous if allowed to get close as they swipe at a faster rate with their claws.
