We have a daughter visiting for a few months and don't want to pack all the bulky stuff. Look for Wilkinsons' or Dunelm's stores. Supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys have bedding ranges in their larger stores. The budget option is Primark or Argos. Argos you can order online for collection in-store or home delivery.
Most students here will use duvets rather than blankets. The budget lines Original_Bobelinks mentions are reasonably good stuff and cheap. I bought some a while ago and they are lasting just as well as the branded stuff. Tried Primark & Morrisons. Supermarkets so electrical & kitchen stuff as well if you need kettle and toaster etc, Morrisons do the branded lines in that, Tescos real cheap stuff that's not so good but works ok. If you Argos online your daughter can pick her own colours though do it just before you leave. There is only a 7 day holding on the goods when waiting for collection at store. If she is coming soon there are sales on. Unless bought in a charity shop a duvet will be cheaper than blankets and will save her time on bed making. Coathangars are often in short supply and she'll probably find an airing rack useful, There are several companies who will supply sudent packs delivered to her hall; but you pay a premium for the service. Argos have an inexpensive delivery service, could be cheaper than a taxi if you are carrying a lot, some other stores may deliver too. She also bought cutlery and crockery etc then we found out the uni actually gives away that kind of stuff handed in by departing international students because what else are they to do with it once they finish their study period, can't really take it with them.
