Appearance
Consider the robot itself. Dreame Bot D9 Max is made in black, glossy plastic. In appearance, the robot is identical to the older model Dreame Bot L10 Pro , which was in my review. The only difference is that the D9 Max does not have a front bumper sensor system that helps the robot detect objects on the floor. Well, the side wall sensor was also removed.
On top of the case there are 2 mechanical control buttons: start / pause and forced return to the base for charging. The lidar is equipped with a mechanical button that prevents it from getting stuck under furniture.
The dust collector is located under the top cover. It holds up to 570 ml of dry waste.
The container is opened for cleaning. Only a HEPA filter is installed inside, there is no additional mesh filter. A brush is conveniently located next to the dust container for cleaning the robot.
Let's see how the Dreame Bot D9 Max is arranged from below. It has 4 fall protection sensors. One side brush, quick-detachable.

Functionality
Let's move on to the overview of functions. The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled via the Mi Home app. Installation and connection in my case went without problems, you just need to follow the manufacturer's prompts.
On the main work panel, Dreame Bot D9 Max builds a room map and automatically zones it into rooms. In the section of the main settings of the robot, you can adjust the volume of voice notifications. This robot supports voice packages in several languages, incl. and in English. You can, if necessary, enable or disable sending notifications about the status of the robot to your smartphone.
In addition, the Dreame Bot D9 Max supports an automatic increase in power when driving on carpets and the continuation of cleaning after recharging at the base. You can set the Do Not Disturb mode and turn on rinse notifications when the robot is wet cleaning large areas.

Also in the settings section, you can adjust the suction power, the level of water supply to the napkin and set up cleaning according to the schedule, choosing, if necessary, the desired rooms for cleaning, the time and days of the week when the Dreame Bot D9 Max should start and the suction power, as well as the degree of wetting of the napkin.
Well, in addition, you can view the cleaning log, track the status of consumables, manually control the robot vacuum cleaner, enable search by sound signal, change the name of the robot, share the control with other users, and update the firmware if necessary.
Let's go back to the main work panel. Next to the map is a section for managing maps. The Dreame Bot D9 Max is capable of storing several unique maps in memory. In the map editor, you can divide rooms into separate zones, combine several rooms into one and choose a name for each room.
You can also set virtual walls and restricted areas on the map, where the robot vacuum cleaner should not enter. Moreover, Dreame Bot D9 Max supports separate no-go zones for wet cleaning, which allows you to protect carpets from getting wet while wet and dry cleaning.
Well, under the map, you can choose one of three cleaning modes. In the room mode, you can select the desired rooms for cleaning, the order of passage and the number of passes: 1 or 2. In automatic mode, the robot cleans the entire available area, and in the "Zone" mode, you can select a zone on the map with a rectangle where Dreame Bot D9 Max should clean locally. Moreover, you can also choose the number of passes by the robot: 1 or 2.
This is all the functionality of a robot vacuum cleaner. In principle, the main possibilities are laid down. The only thing that remains unclear is whether Dreame Bot D9 Max supports management via Yandex.Alisa. Other robots in the line support, and the model that came to me for review does not appear in the list of available devices. Navigation
The first step is to check how the Dreame Bot D9 Max functions in an obstacle room. First, the robot vacuum cleaner passes the perimeter of the room, then switches to cleaning the entire available area with a snake. The dryer legs gave him some problems, but nevertheless the robot did not get stuck and was able to continue cleaning. He even swept around each chair leg and box separately. Navigation is good.
As for cleaning within the house, the Dreame Bot D9 Max cleans room by room, first along the perimeter, and then with a snake. There are no uncleaned areas left, the test was successful!
Suction power
Dreame Bot D9 Max has a declared suction power of 4000 Pa. So the robot vacuum cleaner was able to suck out debris from slots up to 8 mm deep. The 10 mm slit was too strong for him, although the older Dreame Bot L10 Pro was able to partially suck out debris from the 10 mm deep slit. It is not clear what is the reason, tk. the robots are structurally identical. In any case, the robot in question is very powerful and more powerful than its predecessor Dreame D9.
Dry cleaning on laminate
The quality of dry cleaning on laminate flooring is also pleasing. The robot vacuum cleaner was able to remove all debris from the floor, including wool and hair. Only the corners remained uncleared.
However, we see that hair is still wrapped around the turbo brush and the frizzy protection system against entanglement is, in my opinion, ineffective.
In any case, the bulk of the garbage is collected in the dust collector and this test is passed successfully!
Cleaning the carpet
The quality of cleaning the carpet is high, the robot was able to collect all the garbage, I have no complaints
Wet cleaning
There are also no complaints about wet cleaning. The Dreame Bot D9 Max was able to wipe off the dried-up dirt from the floor and did not leave streaks. A small area with a dirty strip remained along the plinth, but this result is shown by all other analogues that we had on the test.
Well, in general, the robot does not wipe the floor too abundantly, even at the maximum water supply level. So it won't ruin wood flooring. Wet cleaning is implemented quite well and is suitable for delicate floor wiping.
Passage of obstacles
The obstacle passability of this model is good. The robot vacuum cleaner runs over a 2 cm nut without any problems. This is a plus.
Passage of dark surfaces
But Dreame Bot D9 Max is afraid of black coatings, recognizing them by height differences. This is important to consider.
Noise level
Well, in conclusion, we measure the noise level of the robot in different modes. At the minimum suction power, the noise level is about 60-62 dB, at an average power, the indicator is within 65 dB. In intensive cleaning mode, the noise level reaches 67 dB, and in Turbo mode, the peak value was 74.5 dB.
The high noise level is due to the similar power, so if you want the robot to vacuum efficiently, you will have to start it in your absence.
Personal opinion
The Dreame Bot D9 Max has been reviewed and tested in detail. According to our rating system, he was able to score 72 out of 100 points and this is an excellent result for a robot vacuum cleaner, especially for that kind of money.
