Decoration still in progress as strong smell of gloss in corridors & tradesmen using customer lifts with equipment. The carpark charge is a set charge, and the new barrier has now been fixed. I am sorry that others took liberties, but please be assured everyone will be charged going forward. « Night away » Lovely hotel, very friendly staff. Slight delay in rooms being ready for 2pm, but nothing a complementary round of drinks didn't soften. Beds were lovely and comfortable, room amenities were ample with tea coffee ect. Thank you for our 5 star rating of your recent stay at the Hotel. I am really sorry there was a slight delay in having your rooms ready but am pleased we managed to make the situation turn into a positive! It is great to see that you enjoyed our lovely new bedrooms. I hope we can welcome you back soon. « i was 50 per cent impressed » well when i booked two weeks before,i actually stayed at the hotel,the internet site made no mention that the builders were in,when i arrived at the hotel for my stay,i get to find out abt the builders,from a notice in the lift..
thats a disgusting way to find that out,i wasnt impressed at all..and a couple of male residents to the hotel,made some comments in the hotel bar,to myself abt how rude one of the builders was to them,when they were trying to locate their rooms..not what you expect from a 4star hotel..even though i appreciate they were upgrading the hotel and doing works..i stayed august 31st to sept 3rd 2016,deluxe room i stayed in,was looking tried,and you could see it was in need of upgrading..bar service was excellent wedn,thurs,friday,but when i went to get lunch and a drink,on the saturday,my day of departure,there were no staff at either bar,i had to go to reception to get them to locate staff,that not exceptable at all..and then when i went to get a 2nd drink,i had to hunt for staff..not good enough for a 4star hotel,at all.........hope staff read these reviews...cos seriously staff on the saturday were ajoke..my food was even getting cold while the waitress went to get salt and mayo for me..she should have ask abt salt and sauces when i ordered and again when she brought my cutlery...shocking and sloppy..

The quality and friendliness of our staff are commented on a regular basis on this website, so I am sorry that you were disappointed on this ocassion. Please be assured that we will look into your comments and make sure they are not repeated. « Excellent central location » This is a building full of character which has been a hotel for many, many years. The décor needs a little tlc, but there is a lovely atmosphere. The location is ideal for trains(opposite Central Station), also close to the town centre, Cathedral, and bus station. Parking is very limited, on a first come basis.
However public transport is very good and there are other parking facilities close by. The standard rooms are a decent size with comfortable bed, good bathroom with large good quality towels and toiletries.The wifi connection is good. No air con, but this may come with the planned re-furb in July.The staff are all extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly The restaurant provides a set two/three course menu and food is also served in the bar. Breakfast gives you a wide choice of the usual hot/cold buffet as well as cooked to order dishes. It was nice to have eggs fried to order instead of all put out on a dish Be advised the "comfort" rooms are small with 4ft bed.. Thanks for your great feedback on your recent stay at the Hotel.
