Oh and this is the best Horsebox in the flipping land too. Can Accommodate 3 people.. there's a double bed above the cob and a single bed in the main bit too... Obviously it's rather an intimate space for 3, but very doable - at Glastonbury we had 6 people staying in her!Due to feedback on some recent bookings, I'm now making this even clearer that this is a cheap & fun place to stay, but it's "no frills"... There's a double & single mattress, but I advise bringing your own bedding & towels, as these won't be provided.if you come expecting camping in a horsebox, then you'll be pleasantly surprised by some of comforts, like the hob for making tea, double bed & wood burner! But it's rather rustic... more at home at a Festival, that in Oxford... but I think it's a fun & cheap place to stay that's a bit different whilst you explore this beautiful town!
We are in the drive of a house in a quiet residential area, a stones throw (15 bus trip) from the Historic Town Centre. We're also quite near an Oxford Tube stop in Cowley called "St Clements".. Again, based on previous feedback, please make sure you know that we are IN Oxford... not in a super quite & romantic rural spot. This is a residential area, and you're on a drive. The garden that we're next too is quite cluttered, as Toad who own's the house next to it enjoys collecting various things! Just be aware of that!There are lots of useful local amenities nearby too, like pubs & supermarkets etc.The only main catch with the Horsebox, is that you have to go into the house (currently undergoing renovations, so a bit messy) to use the Bathroom (shower & loo), but it's right next to the house... Toad lives in the house, and is jolly friendly, so maybe on the way to spend a penny, you might make a new best friend or something? If Toad isn't about then lodger Gary is there to assist...)Otherwise the Horsebox is totally self contained, with a woodburner, electric heater, gas cooker, electricity, kitchen area..
etc. it's a cosy little gaff...It's a fun and very cheap place from which to explore Oxford from... more about the wonderful Oxford later on... Per above, the house is scruffy & mid renovations... the facilities aren't posh by any means.. Please do bare this in mind, as it might not suit a "romantic getaway".. although I use it for that!! But people have different ideas on what's acceptable to the other half I suppose!!If I'm around then yes! Otherwise Toad will be in the house next door to say hello, and help with any emergencies! Or if Toad isn't around, Gary is there to help... or call me if you're really struggling, although I'm in London... and seldom in Oxford... I'm your last resort I guess!The glory of Oxford may well speak for itself? But if not, the best thing to do is probably look at the interweb and tap in "Oxford City Guide"Walks, museums, ice skating, punting, Theatre, films, old country pubs..
Oxford has it all (pretty much).This is a fairly new listing, but we'll try and make this section a bit better as we go - perhaps as a tourist you could write in our guest book and help lead future guests in the right direction too with your recommendations?Buses everywhere in Oxford, there's even the "Oxford Tube" a bus that runs 24 hours a day between London & Oxford... You have to get off at stop in Oxford called "St Clements", then jump on bus that goes via cowley road... after locating cowley road, get off at marsh road and walk up to littlehay... If you're driving, just park on the street near the house.. We're a short taxi from the train station.. I think you could walk in about 30mins if you feel inclined?Buses into town leave from less that 5 mins walk away, and take about 15 mins I think...I'll update this soon, and make it more helpful...Let's make doubly or even triply sure that you're aware that this is like camping in a Horsebox, IN the town of Oxford. We've had couples coming to use her for a fun base from which to explore Oxford.
