We Loved The Cottage And Long Lake My wife and I came up to The Rustic Cabin in early June, 2015 to check out the cabin and its layout, plus the lake. I am a panfisherman and have been looking for a special lake to conduct my fishing habit. I liked what I saw and booked the cabin for a week in latter August. My wife drove her car and I brought my van and boat. She is not interested in fishing, so after two nights, she went back home. Then the fun started. As she was leaving, my one son pulled in. He was ready to fish hard for just one day and get back home to his contracting business. The fishing went very well. We fried some up before he left. He no more than got on the road when my two other sons rolled in for the rest of the week. The cabin fitted us very well. My one boy tried out some special cooking skills that I didn't teach him. His cooking impressed me! I want to let future renters know how helpful Lori was in addressing some concerns. I called her prior to us coming up about where we could clean fish and get rid of the fish guts.
I suggested a cleaning table and a small chest freezer. When we got there in August, the storage shed was equipped with a cleaning table and a new chest freezer. If you clean up after yourself and freeze the guts till garbage day, there is no smell in that building. Lori must have bought into my idea because she done it the right way. Looking forward to staying there again! It was absolutely perfect !! Everything you needed for a vacation was there. Perfect swimming area for even small children wonderful yard for play and great lake for skiing and tubing. We had an amazing time . Lori the property manager was easy to work with everything went very smoothly and the cottage was great . would highly recommend this cabin just make sure you bring plenty of bug spray and if you have problems climbing stairs it may not be for you because the restroom is upstairs.For my family it was a perfect week. We had a great time it was absolutely wonderful.. Lake is gorgeous and peaceful and the cabin was clean and well furnished.
Lori was wonderful to work with and it all went smoothly. I highly recommend this rental just don't forget the bug spray and fishing bait !!!! Thanks again lori !!!! We enjoyed a relaxing family vacation here. The pictures and description are very accurate. Our adult kids slept on the futons and commented on how comfortable they are. The kayaks and paddle pontoon got quite a bit of use as did the firepit. The large yard is great for a variety of games. We've rented other cottages and it was so nice not having to pack bedding and towels. Everything was so clean and well-cared for. The only suggestion we would make is to add a couple outdoor lounge chairs. It was nice though to have 6 adirondack chairs for the fire pit area and then the 4 additional chairs on the deck. We will definitely consider a return visit. We rented this lovely property while attending our daughter's college graduation. It was perfect in every way. We had enough space inside and all the amenities for our entertaining needs.
We had perfect weather for an outdoor Mother's Day picnic. The owner provided canoes, kayaks, a row boat and paddle boat as well as outdoor lawn games. This provided entertainment for all our guest, from the kids to grown-ups. We would rent this sweet little cabin again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a special lakeside vacation. Also, we cannot say enough about the manager, Lori, who goes above and beyond to make your stay as delightful and appealing as possible. My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for the long Thanksgiving weekend as a change from the normal busy Thanksgiving at home with our families. The property manager Lori was so wonderful to work with, she made sure we had everything we needed at the property to make a full Thanksgiving meal. The cabin itself was more cozy than the pictures show!...the fireplace was even already going when we arrived. We brought our small lab/pointer mix with us and she loved taking walks down to the beach and watching the geese swimming in the lake.
We even managed to do a little black Friday shopping in nearby towns. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a place to get away from it all and relax! I'm sure in the summer and early fall the lake is busier but during the winter it was so nice and quiet. Even though our Packers lost on Thanksgiving we really enjoyed the much needed R&R before getting ready for a busy Christmas season.
