Keep a spare for guests, and if you’re short of beds, our sofa beds offer a stylish and practical solution.Tesco will slash the cost of its own-brand food and drink products, it has been confirmed. The supermarket, which operates multiple supermarkets across Birmingham, is to cut the cost of products in a bid to match budget rivals Lidl and Aldi. Aldi opened its first UK store in Birmingham 26 years ago - and still operates numerous stores in the city. But Tesco will match the prices of own-brand products across thousands of lines in a bid to win back custom. The supermarket giant says it will match the quality and price of at least 60 per cent of Aldi and Lidl products.

Its premium range, however, will be excluded from the new price pledge. A Tesco spokesperson said: “We always aim to provide the best possible quality and prices to our customers. "We’ve already introduced our Farm brands range and Brand Guarantee service, and we’ll continue to benchmark more of our own label products against those of our competitors.” The announcement comes just days after the retailer revealed they will be giving customers the chance to benefit from its biggest EVER Black Friday event this year. The supermarket giant will be offering 11 days of amazing deals and savings - up from four days last year. Experts predict Black Friday will see £5BILLION spent by British consumers. And Birmingham shoppers will have the chance to pick up some deals, discounts and offers from one of the many Tesco stores in the area. The retailer will also be hosting deals online. The 11 days worth of deals run from Monday, 21 November, to Thursday, December 1, 2016. More stores are taking part than ever before - with over 700 Tesco stores nationwide offering Black Friday deals.

Over 300 Tesco stores will be opening their doors to customers at 5am on Black Friday itself.
