Powered by a 302 V8, this is a great starting point for someone who wants a classic Mustang for cheap. This 1970 Buick Skylark is available in Vulcan, Alta., for $5,000. The Skylark is based on the same chassis as the contemporary Chevy Chevelle and the two have a very similar look. Despite this, the Skylarks never achieved the same level of fame that the Malibu/Chevelle did and prices remain sane for these cars. This one has a very 1970s brown on brown colour combination and is powered by a 350 cubic-inch Buick V8. We’d find some Magnum 500 wheels and cruise all summer long. It has four doors, eight cylinders and it’s available for $4,000 in Calgary. This car has a mellow 307 cubic-inch V8 but looks very clean inside and out.

The Ventura is essentially a Pontiac Nova and these can be found very cheaply. You won’t win many races with the 305, but, as always with American cars of the era, horsepower upgrades are limited only by your budget.
