I didn't see many reviews for the trailers, so I wanted to leave one so people know what they are getting into. While it was very clean and unique, you ARE staying in a trailer, which means it is TIGHT. If you are over 6ft, standing up straight (especially in the shower), will be impossible. Also if you are of...wide girth...this may also not be the place for you because the hallway and the bathroom are quite a squeeze (I would say they are both under 2ft wide). It does come with a microwave, fridge, dishes/utensils, coffee maker, and a lava lamp (yes quite a nice feature). The shower was a bit tricky to figure out (both knobs towards the pocket door for on) and had low water pressure. Since wall space is limited there are small narrow mirrors above the toilet and in the 'master' bedroom (just not above the sink in the bathroom where you expect it). There weren’t any towel racks, so we just put them on the floor, but the maid gave us new ones anyway. We were a bit concerned about what the noise level would be, but with the air/fan on you CAN’T hear a thing (nice static noise to sleep to).

In the trailer that we stayed in, the front door was a ‘door within a door’. I guess this was for a screen at one time, but take note that when inside and you shut the door, those aren’t extra locks on the top and bottom! We slid them only to hear the ‘inner door’ slam open a little later (good thing we weren’t changing)! One feature that I thought was pretty cool was there was a “car stereo” below the TV, and you can turn the switch on the side of the wall to have it play on the speakers throughout the trailer (awesome). The rope lights above the windows in the living room also added for some nice ambiance. Some extra amenities outside the trailer include a gas grill, eating area with retro lighting, and the house attached to the deck is also owned by Starlux, so you can use the hose on the side to clean off your feet (there is also an outdoor shower all the way to your right when coming up the stairs – just open the wooden door). So overall, if there aren’t any rooms at the Starlux to stay in and you want a cheap room with an experience, stay here (but know there are size/space restrictions).

Room Tip: There is an outdoor shower and hose connected to the yellow house owned by Starlux 637 reviews sorted by: We stayed at the Starlux for the Italian Festival and Kite Flying, Monster Truck and racing boat weekend. Our reservation was for the airstream but when we arrived we found that the lock was broke on the door. We ended up in a room which was very clean for the first 2 night and the last night we spent in the airstream. We said that we would be fine with staying in the room the last night but they said it was reserved for some other party. Come to find out the room is empty. Why you would want to have to clean 2 rooms instead of 1 I don't understand.We were right in the middle of everything and did not use the car except to go to Cape May for a couple of hours. We had a ball and will be back again next year same time. Probably will not stay in the airstream! A few cohorts and I rented the cottage at the Starlux for Firemen's Convention this past weekend.

The open floor plan between the living room and dining room were great. Hardwood floors throughout, kinda slippery but fun. The bedrooms upstairs were adequate, with a tv in 2 out of 3. The bathroom is tight quarters for larger people, especially the shower stall. The kitchen is small as well, but fits a stovetop thanks to a tiny sink. The refrigerator is smaller than an apartment size, so a cooler will be a big help to you. There was an iron and ironing board, dvd player in the living room, radio, 2 toasters, microwave, pots and pans, and dishes, cups and utensils. We were able to pull a signal from the hotel's wifi even though we were located across the street. My family and I (8 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and hubby) stayed at the Starlux from September 2nd to September 5th. We paid for a one bedroom suite and asked for a stove to be in our room and the person who I spoke to (a male) said that the rooms with stoves were on the first floor and that they were available. I paid for it immediately which should have guaranteed me the room.

When we got there Donald (hotel manager) informed me that we were on the third floor. I told him that we should have had a room with a stove and he told me that I didnt request that because it would have been in the notes. I took offense to this because he was pretty much telling me that I was lying and we exchanged a few words. I told him that I was okay with going to the third floor but I was a little ticked off by him telling me I never requested a stove. I was really upset. I took my room keys and went to my room. I realized that I had to stay at this hotel so I should just be the bigger person and apologize. I apologized to Donald and he told me that he dug a little further and saw that I did request the stove and that the person who made the booking did not click the guarantee button. He offered me Saturday and Sunday in the room with the stove but who felt like moving after settling in so I declined.Besides that issue, the room was okay and the location was awesome. But as my family and I drove around, there are so many other hotels that are so much closet to everything that were cheaper than what I paid.

Nice hotel, but terrible customer service. He seriously argued me down about the stove in the room. The other staff were very pleasant. Dont get me wrong, after that altercation Donald was nice too but he should learn a few things about customer service. Starlux is fun, quirky motel that feels like it's operated by a small independent business owner (though it isn't). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and if you want to "do" Wildwoods and the whole beach-boardwalk-amusement/water park thing, it doesn't get any better than this. Location is everything: from Starlux you are a block to the beach, 2 blocks to the Convention Center, 4 to the boardwalk. And, you are walking distance to several really good restaurants (try Dogtooth & Marvis diner) and a quick drive to convenience shopping (Walmart, Acme grocery store, CVS).During our stay the positives far exceeded the negatives. On the plus side (other than location): free use of bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys;

ridiculously steep discounts on tix to Morey's Piers and Water Parks; crazy responsive service (eg. the pull out sofa wouldn't close and they replaced it in record time; I sent my ten year old to the front desk to request a kitchen utensil--housekeeping was knocking on our door with it 4 MINUTES later; housekeeping accidentally took a a personal item that got mixed in with towel laundry and when we asked about it hopelessly, it was returned washed and folded!); modest but free continental breakfast (coffee/tea/juice, muffins, plain bagels); fun, clean pool/hot tub; The negatives: Our Queen suite had a double bed in the BR (not a Queen or King) and only one dvd player--we missed having one in the bedroom; $10 off a meal at one of the company owned eateries is just a discount at a place not worth going to to eat; pretty clean room but there were more than a few traces of sand on the floor and carpeting; no toilet seat cover on the toilet (yeah weird--but when it's missing you wouldn't believe what falls in...).
