What a great Entrepreneurial Team!” Most people think of a Mattress Store as a boring business where once in awhile you walk in and some random guy tries to sell you the most expensive mattress in the store. Well, you’re in for a surprise. I was shocked myself when I walked into LA Mattress Stores Showroom few weeks back. I was greeted by Marquis who managed the showroom. For those who know me, I love to socialize and I’m not afraid to speak my mind. “Marquise, no offense but you look like an Actor or a Celebrity trainer…what are you doing working at a mattress store?” He was quick to answer that he was a Veteran and it was a great honor to work with such a great diverse team at LA Mattress Stores. At first, I didn’t really understand what he meant but walked along to met with the owner of all the LA Mattress Stores locations. The meeting was originally to discuss having the founder be a part of our network of Entrepreneurs making a difference in their industry.
I was in for a surprise. During the meeting I laughed, my eyes teared up, and felt the most emotional connection to a genuine human being I have ever felt. I meet with Entrepreneurs everyday and many are great people trying to help others but this experience was beyond that! The owner of LA Mattress Stores expressed his gratitude for being fortunate to have a diverse community among his team members, and that he always wanted to make charitable contributions. After a deep and intense conversation it was confirmed that LA Mattress Stores will donate brand new mattresses to Veterans in need, organizations working with Foster Children, and Trauma patients transitioning from rehabilitation centers to their homes. “Buy your mattress at LA Mattress Stores and we will donate to families in need in our community” The organizations and the community will be allowed to submit their requests and selective organizations and families will be selected. The announcements are schedule to be made right before Thanksgiving Day.
