This 1930's carriage house, located to the rear of the main house, has almost 700 square feet in a very private accommodation on the second floor. In the bedroom is a queen-size bed, with the entire room decorated in white wicker, including a rocking chair, and stained-glass lamps. includes a gas fireplace, cable TV, DVD & VCR player, stereo with CD player, private phone, a small balcony, built-in bookshelves and desk, a matching sofa and loveseat, and the original hardwood floors throughout. The sofa pulls out to a full-size sofa sleeper, thus, we can accommodate up to 4 people in the carriage house. In the dining room, with a built-in hutch and stained-glass light fixture, there is a delightfully colorful fruit theme throughout, which continues into fully equipped kitchen with the original cabinets. The kitchen contains a full-size refrigerator with ice maker, a stove and oven, a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, and all the utensils needed in the event you decide to eat in for dinner!
Refreshments, condiments, coffee and tea, and cookies are also provided in the kitchen. The full bathroom has a large pedestal sink, a tub and shower, wall-mounted hairdryer, stained-glass, and the original tiled floor. Guests have access to the outdoor deck and yard below. The room rate includes delicious breakfast for two, served in the formal dining room in the main house. Piada Italian Street Food opened on January 19, 2017 at 8942 South Broadway Avenue, in The Village at Cumberland Park. The Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom opened in September of 2016 at the northwest corner of Loop 323 and Old Bullard Road. The restaurant, begun in Boulder, Colorado, offers a menu of taproom fare, pizzas, burgers and a variety of craft beer. Other locations in Texas for the chain include Garland, Killeen, and Waco. Grub Burger Bar has announced the grand opening of its Tyler location, held on February 9, 2016. The restaurant is located in the southwest corner of South Broadway Avenue and Grande Boulevard. Grub Burger Bar is a fast, casual concept offering eclectic burgers, fresh salads and cutting edge shakes and cocktails. Grub stands for Good people, Real food, Unique vibe and Big flavors. They grind their signature blend of chuck and brisket every morning. They also bake their buns from scratch throughout the day. The menu is made up of chef driven burgers, delicious bar snacks, savory side dishes, and fresh salads. The Tyler location marks the 14th location in Texas, Atlanta, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Florida.
Four more locations are slated to open this year. Grub Burger Bar in Tyler is located at 6421 South Broadway, Suite 130. The owners of the popular Tyler eatery Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar-B-Q, Nick and Jen Pencis, are starting a new restaurant, Roast Social Kitchen. The Pencis’ newest venture opened in early March of 2016 at 1125 East Fifth Street. In addition to the diverse kitchen, Roast also features a full service bar with 24 wine taps. Walk-Ons Bistreaux and Bar is coming to Tyler. The franchise features a signature Louisiana-style menu and sports bar atmosphere. In 2015, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and his wife bought into Walk-Ons Enterprises as co-owners. After its original location near LSU in Baton Rouge, Walk-Ons currently operates seven Louisiana locations including New Orleans, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Lafayette and Houma. Besides the Tyler location, other Walk-Ons are planned for Lubbock, Alexandria, Zachary and Denham Springs. In 1996, Mitch Rotolo opened the first Rotolo’s Pizzeria in Baton Rouge, Louisiana just a pizza throw away from LSU. Today, it has more than 35 locations in 4 states. Abuelo's restaurant will soon be open in the new Village at Cumberland Park in Tyler. Abuelo’s has consistently been on the leading edge of Mexican cuisine, combining menu creativity, outstanding food and beverage quality, colorful plate presentations and superior service in an impressive Mexican courtyard-themed atmosphere. Every dish is made to order from scratch using only the freshest premium ingredients. Abuelo's in Tyler opened on November 9, 2015. Panda Express opened in Tyler in January of 2016 at 6910 South Broadway, across from Target. Outback Steakhouse, a popular Tyler dining destination, is currently undergoing renovations at its 5704 S. Broadway location.
The restaurant remains open during the work. Five Guys Burgers & Fries, a restaruant chain that began in Washington, D.C. in 1986, is now located at 4510 S. Broadway Ave., in the French Quarter Shopping Center where Dairy Queen previously was located, next to Ken's Pizza. The chain features about 1,200 stores. Torchy's Taco opened in the fall of 2015 at 426 E SE Loop 323 across from Robert E. Lee High School. It was started in 2006 in an Austin food truck by former executive chef Michael Rypka. Slim Chickens, a restaruant chain that began in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2003, is coming to Tyler. It is now open at 7925 S. Broadway Ave., in the Broadway Hills Plaza retail center across the street from Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant has 14 locations in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The menu includes cooked-to-order grilled or fried chicken, salads, wraps and sandwiches, fried pickles, okra, and 15 flavors of dipping sauces. Freebirds World Burrito opens on South Broadway
Freebirds is now open at its location in the building that formerly housed Casa Ole in the Times Square retail center. Freebirds completely renovated the inside of the building, gave the exterior a whole new look and built two outdoor patios. It is a build-your-own-burrito chain with over 100 locations nationwide. Steak N Shake is located on University Boulevard along with Scooter's Coffee Shop and the Republic Icehouse. A second Steak N Shake is also now open at 7205 South Broadway Avenue just south of Braum's. Razzoo's Cajun Cafe opened in Tyler in 2014 at 7011 South Broadway Avenue, in front of Target. It offers a wide variety of foods, like the Cajun Combo Skillet, Crawfish Etoufee, Shrimp Creole, Red Beans & Rice and grilled Andouille Sausage served in a cast iron skillet. Freshly shucked Gulf Coast oysters are also a Razzoo's favorite. The restaurant chain began in the Dallas area, and has now expanded to over 18 locations. Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches is now open at its new location at 5303 South Broadway, between Brookshires and Walgreens.

Juls Opens on Old Jacksonville Highway For more than 10 years, Julian’s has been one of Tyler’s favorite places for food and entertainment. In late 2013, Juls was opened, at 7212 Old Jacksonville Highway. Juls’ features a spacious main dining room, two private rooms for meetings or large group functions, and a beautiful 5,000 sq. ft. patio open year round with heaters and misters. Chipotle Mexican Grill Opens in Tyler Chipotle Mexican Grill is now open on the east side of the Broadway Square Mall at 4751 South Broadway Avenue, Chipotle's first location in East Texas. The original Chipotle was opened in 1993 in Denver, and has now been expanded to more than 900 locations nationwide. Its idea is to demonstrate that food served fast doesn't have to be a "fast-food" experience. Chuy's opened in May, 2011, on 5935 South Broadway in the Fountains of Chimney Rock development, across from Lowe's.
