can of spray primer quart of high-gloss or lacquer paint pneumatic stapler or basic staple gun decorative upholstery welt cord chisel or carpenter's knife Remove cushion from chair using screwdriver or drill. Remove existing finish by sanding in a controlled back-and-forth motion using a fine-grit sanding block. Using damp cloth, wipe off dust and residue. Turn dining chair upside down, and remove protective feet from bottom using pliers. Cover floor of workspace with drop cloth. Using a can of spray primer with a spray can handle, add a coat of primer to chair base. To ensure an even finish, move from left to right in a controlled manner, pressing tip for quick spurts rather than holding tip down for a long period of time. Tip: Using gray primer will cut down on the number of coats needed for darker colors; using a red-tinted primer will cut down on the number of coats needed for red, orange and pink. Using HVLP paint sprayer, add lacquer or high-gloss paint, moving sprayer in a controlled back-and-forth motion.

Tip: If the dining chair has arms, consider doing twice as many coats to ensure a thick enough finish on the arm to account for wear and tear. Two coats on a side chair will be sufficient. Once paint is dry to the touch, turn chair upside down on a protective surface covering such as a furniture blanket or towels. With chair turned upside down and sturdy in place, whittle bottom of leg to size with chisel or carpenter's knife so it will fit into decorative furniture caster. Attach casters to whittled bottom of chair leg using drill and screws. Tip: If any gaps are left between the chair leg and the interior of the casters, add carpenter's glue inside the gaps to keep the fit extra tight. Remove old fabric from cushion with pliers. Stretch new fabric across front, then staple to the back. Tip: For a more professional look, consider adding decorative piping to underside of cushion along the edge with a hot glue gun and glue sticks. Attach cushion with screws using drill.

7500 Restored Pine       7000 Redeemed          200-300 Country Oak -14 Classic American Oak     1900 Laminate DINING ROOM EASY CARE TIPSFurniture should not be exposed to extreme humidity or temperature. This can cause both the wood and the lacquer to crack.  It is recommended to keep your home’s relative humidity between 30% and 50%.Avoid placing furniture directly in front of heat sources such as heating vents or wood burning stoves.Avoid dragging your hardwood furniture when moving it.All spills should be wiped off as soon as possible, including food and beverages, to reduce the chances of staining or leaving a ring or spot in the finish.Extremely hot (coffee cups, dishes, cigarettes) and cold (drink cans) items should not be placed directly on the finish. Over time, this could damage the wood and the finish.Avoid using window cleaners that contain ammonia, which can attack the furniture’s finish.Avoid the use of cheap, oily polishes or waxes because they will collect dust and leave a waxy build up over time.

Our finishes may be cleaned by wiping the surface with a soft cloth dampened with water. Our recommended cleaning solution is to mix one tablespoon of vinegar with one quart of water. Use a soft cloth and wipe with the grain. Use another clean, soft cloth to wipe up any excess liquid to make certain the surface is completely dry.To protect your furniture’s finish, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight on a daily basis.Modern finishes are formulated to have a high degree of resistance to color change. However, most lacquers and lumbers will darken, or amber, over time. To minimize this effect, furniture should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. If sunlight cannot be avoided it is recommended to rotate your furniture periodically to get even exposure. All leaves should be stored face side down, NOT standing up.Our tables are custom built with Solid Birch or Solid Oak however they are still wood. For everyday use, we recommend placemats, trivets, and table pads to protect against scratches, dings or dents.

Avoid the use of rubber, vinyl, and plastic items such as some placemats, TV pads, lamp pads, etc., as they may cause deterioration of the finish. We recommend using cloth backed items for these purposes.Hi, I'd like to show you this page I found on Wayside Furniture's website.
