Telegram Desktop brings your messages, contacts and media to your desktop with a completely independent app. You can chat even if your phone is in another room, turned off or orbiting the moon.

You can even start a message on your phone and finish it on your desktop with Cloud Drafts – for those messages which are turning into essays.

Export your chats

Whether you're saving important memories or training a bot to perfectly impersonate you, you can export your data using Telegram Desktop.

To export a single chat, open the chat's menu and click Export Chat History. You can customize what is exported, a time period and even a size limit for media.

If you want to download everything, go to Settings > Advanced > Export Telegram Data. For this option, you can even choose whether to export in human-friendly HTML or JSON for digital digestion.

Spell Checker

Nothing slows a chat down like opening the dictionary to check the spelling of "fluorescent." Typos will be highlighted with the classic red underline. Just tap them to see suggestions – including any custom words in your system's spellcheck dictionary.

Open Source

Like our other apps, Telegram Desktop is open source so anyone can take a peek behind the scenes, verify Telegram's security or even build their own version.

Workmode

Shh. This one's a secret. You can enable workmode by typing "workmode" in the Settings menu. You'll see a new button at the top of your chat list to hide all muted chats so you can focus on what's really important – it's up to you if that's work or everything but work.
