The South 40 is a “small town” with its own fitness center, dining facilities, technology center, meeting rooms, intramural fields, basketball and sand volleyball courts, recreation and game rooms, and music practice rooms. In addition, Bear Necessities, a gift shop; Paws & Go, a convenience store; and several student-run businesses are located on the South 40.




South 40 House | Thomas Eliot House BShepley and Wheeler Houses Shanedling Hall is an upperclass hall. It consists of mostly six-person suites (two single bedrooms, two – two-person bedrooms). In addition to six-person suites, Shanedling Hall has one eight-person suite. South 40 House (USoFo Residential College) South 40 House is one of our newest facilities and features upperclass suite-style living on the South 40. The building houses approximately 219 students in primarily four person suites. This building has many common spaces for gathering and socializing. Hitzeman Hall (HIG Residential College) HIG is an all-suite Residential College consisting of three buildings.




Each building consists of six-person suites (two single bedrooms, two –  two-person bedrooms). The HIG Residential College has a number of laundry rooms and common spaces, a computer lab, vending machines, and a kitchen. Thomas Eliot House B (Thomas Eliot Residential College) Thomas Eliot House B shares a Residential College with Thomas Eliot House. Eliot B features four-person suites (single bedrooms) with a private common space and bathrooms, two-person suites (double bedrooms) with private bathrooms, and houses about 146 upperclass residents. This Residential College has many common spaces and study lounges, and a multipurpose room. Thomas Eliot House B Floor Plan Mudd House (Park/Mudd Residential College) Mudd House is the upperclass house for Park/Mudd Residential College. Mudd features equal numbers of four-person suites (single bedrooms) and four-person with two-person bedrooms. Each suite contains a private common space and bathroom and the building houses about 140 residents.




The Park/Mudd Residential College has many common spaces, lounges, music rooms, and gathering places. Nemerov House (Wayman Crow Residential College) Nemerov House is part of the Wayman Crow Residential College. Nemerov features four-person suites (mostly four-single bedrooms, some double rooms) with a private common space and bathrooms and houses about 135 residents. There are a limited number of double bedrooms with private baths. The Wayman Crow Residential College has many common spaces, lounges, and gathering spaces. Liggett House is part of the Liggett/Koenig Residential College. Liggett features four three-person suites and 20 four-person suites with a private bathroom and common room. Liggett also has eight double rooms, which each have an attached private bathroom. Liggett houses approximately 100 residents. The L/K Residential College has many common spaces, lounges, and gathering spaces. Gregg House is part of the Brookings Residential College. Gregg features mostly four-person suites with private bathroom and common room plus some double rooms with private bathroom and houses about 155 residents.




The Brookings Residential College has many common spaces, lounges, and gathering spaces. Shepley and Wheeler Houses are part of the William Greenleaf Eliot (WGE) Residential College. Both Shepley and Wheeler feature four-person suites with a private bathroom and common room plus a handful of double rooms with a private bathroom. Shepley House is home to approximately 115 residents while Wheeler House is home to roughly 140 residents. The WGE Residential College has many common spaces, lounges, and gathering spaces. The Village is located in the Northwest corner of campus and is comprised of Village House and Lopata House. Together, the two buildings house about 315 residents and each floor has one RA. The third floor of residents in Lopata House are part of The Village BLOC Program, a student driven living and learning community. Lopata House and Village House have mostly suites with four single bedrooms and two bathrooms, connected by a private hallway. Each floor hallway has three to four living rooms to be used by BLOCs or others in the community.

Amenities include furnished bedrooms, living rooms, and dining area; kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, and stove; two bathrooms per apartment; and close proximity to The Village for dining, mail services, meeting space, computer labs, and classrooms. Please note: All apartments do not include housekeeping services for common areas and bathrooms. The Apartments South consists of Millbrook Square, University Drive, and Greenway. The total number of residents is around 600 upperclassmen students.  Millbrook Square Apartment consists of four buildings near the Northwest corner of the Danforth Campus. These four apartment buildings are composed of between 14 and 16 units. These units range in size from three to eight person apartments. Each unit also contains a living/dining room, bathroom(s), and kitchen. Millbrook Square apartments offer amenities such as: furnished living rooms and bedrooms;




full kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, and stoves; community laundry facilities in every basement; balconies in some suites; a quad with outdoor pool; and close proximity to The Village with dining, mail service, classrooms, and meeting spaces. Please note that these apartments do not include housekeeping services for common areas or bathrooms. Millbrook Building One consists of: Millbrook Building Two consists of: Millbrook Building Three consists of: Millbrook Building Four consists of: Conveniently located across the street from the Danforth Campus in University City, University Drive Apartments are off-campus, but a quick walk across Forest Park Parkway to campus. University Drive apartments were built at the turn of the century and it has mostly 3-person (there are two 2 bedroom apartments in 6811) units that offer a classic living style. Washington University in St. Louis proudly offers our students the opportunity to live in an off-campus apartment in the local community while still enjoying the services provided by Residential Life.

The Lofts of Washington University is a mixed-use development comprised of three residential apartment buildings on Enright Avenue and two mixed-use buildings featuring ground-floor retail with residential apartments on the upper floor, fronting on Delmar Boulevard. The Lofts include retail space on Delmar, 240-265 apartments that will house 550-600 occupants and underground parking for residents. They are furnished one and two bedroom apartments. The building is located at the corner of Waterman and Rosedale. The Danforth Campus is a short walk away—with The Sam Fox School and School of Engineering a quick 10-minute walk away 2 Bedroom – 24 units
