Found the whole experience brilliant, the people that organised were brilliant and i can honestly say it was the most fun i have ever had while watching a film.

A fantastic place and a quirky experience to watch a film. Deckchair cinema had several drinks and popcorn to purchase which made the experience even more enjoyable. This is a sweet institution that should be supported. Drinks available with family film. Vibe summed up by name. Nice evening out when camping. Brilliant idea, excellent execution; We had a really enjoyable evening watching Eddie the Eagle. It was such a relaxed & happy atmosphere. The bar was very reasonably priced and we were allowed to take in our take away pizza. Will definitely visit again. What a great way to view a movie at the seaside. Great atmosphere, deck chairs were comfy, homemade popcorn yummy and a great range of very reasonably priced alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages for sale. All the adults and children ages 10 to 15 years had a great evening. We will definitely return! What a fabulous concept ! Went last Sunday eve and watched Eddie the Eagle... Fab film made better by my surroundings and ambiance 😀 Thanks Chris and co see you in 2017

We have been to the Deckchair cinema about 4 times, it's such a fun evening for kids and adults. Great way to see a current film. Kids and grown ups get to buy popcorn and drinks! We take a pillow along to add to the cosy set up. A definite must for an evening out. Don't be put off by... A great idea and well executed. Bar and popcorn available and good size screen and great sound quality. W The Deckchair cinema is GREAT entertainment for the whole family. We booked 10 seats for the deckchair cinema and got front row seats. Age range from 7 years to 47 years! The refreshments are great value for money. We all had a great night watching 'Eddie The Eagle' which is a fantastic film and very funny. We managed to book... The deckchair cinema was a great addition to our holiday, reasonably priced, very friendly and helpful. It's Nottingham's nearest seaside resort, so news editor Jade Beecroft headed east to the coast to find out what all the fuss is about.Or just simply Skeg.

Whatever affectionate phrase you favour, a holiday at the Lincolnshire resort is apparently a rite of passage for the majority of Nottingham families. But as I grew up in Yorkshire, my childhood summers were spent in Blackpool or Cleethorpes instead. So, at the grand old age of 34, I headed off with a pal to spend my first ever weekend in good old Skegness.Read more: 13 best attractions in Skegness The first thing to say, of course, is that you really have to embrace Skegness for what it is, and forget about what it isn't. There's no point in bemoaning the lack of fancy restaurants, cocktail bars or boutiques.A classy destination, this 'aint. But nor does it pretend to be. Skegness is about freshly-fried donuts on the pier, temporary tattoos at the funfair, chips soaked in vinegar, ancient red-and-white striped deck chairs, bingo halls, and Jim Davidson at the Embassy Theatre. In short, it's the quintessential cheap-and-cheerful British seaside resort. We stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel, which was ideally situated on the main drag, close to all the attractions.

The bedrooms were simple and quite obviously geared towards the comfort of older guests, with handrails in the bathroom and a 6pm evening meal.Read more: Why Donington Park Museum is well worth a visitBut downstairs there was a more modern atmosphere, with a welcoming and well-stocked bar area, and airy, comfortable dining room.It turned out that manager Mitch was a dab hand in the kitchen, and his cooking was infinitely preferable to the fried fare being pedalled in the town's pubs and cafes. His breakfasts were tasty, with lovely, fluffy scrambled eggs; and as vegetarians we were presented with a special evening menu with FOUR different meat-free options, which turned out to be full of flavour and really delicious.Mitch obviously cared about producing healthy and hearty home-cooked food, and we could see that he also cared about his guests. We noticed him taking special pains with a particularly elderly gentleman, making sure he was happy and well fed.Out in the town, we decided to spend the morning at Natureland Seal Sanctuary, which offers a surprisingly wide range of creatures aside from those named-checked in its title.

We walked through the greenhouse butterfly enclosure, gawped at fish and snakes in the aquarium and reptile house, laughed at the meerkats and were spat at by the grumpy alpacas. But of course, the stars of the show were the harbour seals. The sanctuary keeps a small colony of breeding adults, but its real conservation work involves rescuing the scores of baby seals who get into trouble along the coastline. Its hospital area was caring for two fluffy and sad-eyed patients when we visited, which had been picked up after being found orphaned on one of the nearby beaches.Once patched up by the dedicated team at Natureworld, the baby seals graduate to the rearing pool, where they are fattened up and taught how to feed themselves before finally being released back out into the wild. The rearing enclosure was, as you would expect, the highlight of the trip, with families crowding round to see the adorable seal pups. At feeding time their keeper explained that it costs around £2,000 to rescue and rehabilitate each seal, and they are tagged before they are released back into the wild so the sanctuary can track their progress.

Read more: Enjoy a relaxing break at Ragdale HallAfter dutifully making a donation to help the seal pups along their way, we headed off on our way to experience the rest of what Skegness had to offer.Adopting a "when in Rome" approach to the operation, we gamely punted about on the boating lake, guzzled neon-coloured slush drinks, and sat in deck chairs on the pier scoffing donuts. Then it was off to get some particularly tacky spray-on tattoos (which we were assured would wash off within a week) and brave a bracing wind to paddle in the sea.The nightlife in Skeg-vegas is also worth a mention. After being woken up on our first night by a drunken Romeo bellowing at his beloved below our hotel room window, we decided that if you can't beat 'em… join 'em, and headed out on a bar crawl on our second evening. It was everything you would expect; sticky dancefloors, watery lager and 90s dance music. But after temporarily joining a stag do (and being invited to twang the pink lacy thong of the groom-to-be), glugging ridiculously cheap "prosecco" and shaking our stuff to a Justin Bieber mega-mix, we decided that there's a lot to love about Skegness.
