Dakota is one of 50 states of the USA. Firstly, I would like to introduce the location of Dakota. The state is situated in the north of the US, in the region of Midwest and it borders on Canada.
The states name comes from an Indian - Dakota. He founded the settlement with two tribes of the Mandans and Hidats. 1803 the place became a part of Lousiana. 1861 Dakota owned the territory. A seperate had place in 1877 and Dakota was divided to North and South Dakota. Since the 2nd November 1889 both parts of Dakota are states of the USA.

Today the North Dakota is 183 111 km2 big and 642 000 people live there. The capital city is Bosmarck, but the biggest city is Fargo. As in the most states of the USA the official language is English. 94,86% of the population speak it. 51% are protestants and 20% have no religion. An interesting thing about North Dakota is that in Pierce County is the geographic centre of North America.
South Dakota is very similar. The capital is Pierre and the state is 199 729 km2 big.
These two states are famous for the crop of corn, bean, wheat and other. Sheep, cows and beekeeping are very popular there. 90% of the land are farms. It’s like the dominat job.
The climate is a bit comparable with Europe. The summers are hot and winters often cold.
A famous attraction is Mount Rushmore. This is this big stone with the faces. When you visit Dakota, you jest have to see it.
Summing-up: Dakota has an interesting history and sure it would be amaizing to take a trip there and admire the wonderful landscapes of the valleys where the river Missouri leaves a mark.
