On February 4, 2022, SM STATION: NCT LAB will be releasing a song featuring MARK with the title Child. The song was released along with the music video. In particular, Child is a hip hop song with a synth bass and featuring an electric guitar sound. Unfortunately, the lyrics were written by MARK himself.
How about using the title "Child", why did you choose the title "Child"?" Johnny asked.
"At first I never thought that this song would be called "Child", I thought it would be called "Question" because there was a part of it's my question that came up, so I thought that was the whole concept for the song. But Dress said "How about that child?" Then I thought it was pretty good and it fits the image and the story about the lyrics" explained Mark.
Mark also said that he participated in giving opinions on MV shooting, where he wanted a concept that described his daily life, and the concept of wearing a lot of hoodies and beanies became Mark's trademark.
"Actually there are many types of music that I want to try, I want to show a different side and convey various messages to fans. There are things that I can do alone such as "Child" and there are also things that can be done with NCT. So look forward to it ." said Mark.
Mark also said that the song "Child" was a gift given to his fans, because he felt that the fans had worked hard for the past year.
As MC Johnny appreciated and said he really liked the song "Child" because the song was different and matched Mark's voice.
Mark also talked about the process of making the song "Child", where "Child" was his first project with Dress (producer).
"Initially I made this concept while chatting with Dress, Dress gave me the beat the day before we met, and I've also written some of the lyrics," said Mark.
