Yesterday was the Bliss Wedding show and my beautiful daughter filled in for me for most of the day while I did my motherly duties and shopped for Valentines Day tomorrow. So here it goes. Last summer I was able to be involved with some very beautiful weddings so for the next day I am going to update and maybe give some of you some ideas! It’s Christmas eve and while it’s time for us to sign off for a few days we wanted to share one beautiful Christmas Sundance wedding in the hopes of spreading holiday spirit! Its the perfect Utah Christmas wedding, a destination soiree full of holiday charm and the cozy comfort that Utah brings to the season! Thanks to Events by LMG, and Zuma photo for sharing with us, along with the talents and contributions of some of Utah’s best vendors in one of our best venues! And a big thank you to the bride herself for giving us some insight into her winter Christmas wedding dream! Ever since I was a little girl, I had always dreamed of being married in the mountains around Christmas with snow on the ground. Living in Houston, where all you see is concrete and sky scrapers, my summers to Colorado were always so special.




It was as though the mountains gave me peace, clarity, and confidence when I didn’t even know I needed it. So what’s so important about Christmas? As for most of us, Christmas has always been my absolute favorite time of year. It is a time of thankfulness, kindness, and celebrating. Plus, everything is sparkly, you have an excuse to dress up more than normal, and you have beautiful Christmas Trees. So why Utah, and why Sundance when most of my knowledge of the mountains comes from Colorado? To be honest, choosing Utah over Colorado at first was a financial and distance decision. We felt we could end up getting a better bang for our buck in Utah than in Colorado. Additionally, having our guests drive 1-1.5 hours as opposed to 2+ made a lot of sense to us, since everyone would be out of town guests. Sundance was the most wonderful accidental find. In fact, we almost didn’t make the drive from Park City to Sundance. As soon as we arrived and toured, we knew that this was a very special place.




Everything was tucked away in beautiful trees, and the landscape and mountains were clearly meant to be the center of attention. As previously stated, the theme of my wedding was Snowy Mountain Christmas, and the two colors that embodied my idea of Christmas the most was red and gold. Now, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t want my wedding to end up kitschy. I still wanted an elevated rusticity to the event. I was getting married in Sundance, and I only wanted to add not take away from the natural beauty. I was able to pull of this amazing wedding with Katie Todd from Sundance and my amazing wedding planner Mara Harwood with Events by LMG. Mara was so helpful in helping me find Audrey O’Brien with Studio Stems, who did an amazing job working with me to create the perfect wedding and reception venues, as well as the most beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres. She was truly a master of taking my emailed thoughts and turning them into exactly what I was thinking. Mara also hooked me up with Megan Bailey with Pink Piggy Designs.




Kevin and I sat with her in one morning session and completely came up with the most amazing invitation concept. We absolutely loved our finished product. We were also introduced to Zuma Photo, who took some amazing pictures of Kevin and I at Sundance. We think they did such an amazing job in capturing the essence of Sundance and our wedding. In the reception area, we had beautiful hurricane chandeliers suspended by rope that brought a wonderful ambiance to the room. We also opted for wooden farmhouse tables with brown chiavari chairs. The rentals and dance floor came from Alpine Events Rentals, and everything was done to perfection. We had the joy and honor to meet and work with Julie Hill with Layers Cake. I had envisioned a golden wood textured cake that was adorned with red roses/flowers from Audrey. The end product was breathtaking and beyond anything I could have imagined. Kevin and I both agree, our wedding weekend at Sundance Resort in Utah was the best weekend we have ever had, and we could not have imagined a more perfect way to start our life together.
