Is your LÄTT lacking? I'm not exaggerating when I say that nearly every family I know with young kids has a LÄTT table and chair set from IKEA. Well, it's a lot of bang for your buck. For $20 you have a place for young kids to play, make art, and eat. The set is a great value, but, in natural pine and white, doesn't make much of a style statement. Here are a bevy of LÄTT makeovers— some cosmetic and other adding functionality—to inspire you to customize or revitalize your own set. See more: Meet the Sykes (Image credit: Meet the Sykes) Shalee gussied up her LÄTT set with grey paint, a plexiglass top, chalkboard paint on the tabletop, a paper holder installed underneath and cute, comfy seat cushions. See more: My Bella Bug (Image credit: My Bella Bug) Kristin painted her set grey (leaving the top white) and then painted the bottoms of the chair legs pink and purple for a color-dipped effect. See more: Freckles Chick (Image credit: Freckles Chick)

Freckles Chick and her husband made many enhancements to their set: painted it white, added a holder underneath for a paper roll and trim on the top to hold the paper in place, added adhesive chalkboard vinyl to the top (not seen above), added acrylic holders with 3M velcro strips for art supplies and made seat cushions by removing some stuffing from pillows and adding ties. uploaded to Pinterest by Em Aitch (Image credit: Em Aitch via Pinterest) This set was painted orange and yellow and upholstered with easy-to-clean oilcloth fabric on the tabletop and seats. See more: Paddington Way (Image credit: Paddington Way) Jenna used white paint on the table and a trendy coral on the chairs to give this LÄTT some personality. She also used chalkboard paint on the tabletop. We've been writing about LÄTT makeovers since 2009! Delightful Yarn-Wrapped LATT Makeover Make It Yours: DIY Kids Table Makeovers See more of this room: Brynlee's Dipped in Gold Abode (Image credit: Brittany Stanly) Brittany painted hers white with gold dipped legs and chair stripes. She also added a chalkboard top. See more: Dreaming Awake (Image credit: Dreaming Awake) Quick, simple and on trend: Jennifer used some leftover paint from her daughter's play kitchen to add some color to the bottoms of the table and chair legs. See more: Milk & Mascara (Image credit: Milk & Mascara) Jenelle put her stamp on the LÄTT with a minty green paint job and the addition of a patterned top she fashioned from wrapping paper and a piece of acrylic plastic. See more: Little Baby Garvin (Image credit: Little Baby Garvin) Instead of fully painting her set, Jessica used a dark wood stain with two strips of paint accents on the legs. What you can't see is the addition of a paper roll holder on the underside of the table.

See more: Tinker With This (Image credit: Tinker With This) Here's another version using a wood stain (this time a grey stain) as well as chalkboard paint, plexiglass and fabric-covered chairs. See more: All About Ami (Image credit: All About Ami) Ami didn't use paint on her LÄTT, but she covered the top with plexiglass and added a foam cushion and chevron fabric to the chair seats. Uploaded to Pinterest by Marie Camacho (Image credit: Marie Camacho via Pinterest) Bright red paint and bold pattern make a modern statement with Marie's LÄTT. See more: Meet the Sullivans (Image credit: Meet the Sullivans) Colleen got out her spray paint to cover the chairs gray, the table white and the tabletop with chalkboard paint. For added style she painted stripes onto the chair seats. See more: Swoon Studio (Image credit: Swoon Studio) Randi's LÄTT was three years old and needed a refresh. She wasn't shy about her bright yellow paint choice, but did leave the leg bottoms natural.
